The Council met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. The
Pdayor and all members of the Council were present.
The. minutes of the meeting held August 8th, 1932, were
read and approved.
A communication was read Prom the Assistant County
Auditor regarding a bill that had been rendered as rental fore
the Chamber of Commerce Ball for holding the race referendum --
election. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Glerk
was instructed to take this matter up with Mr. M. D. Carmi-

The applicati m of Phr. ~. A. Kenyon to conduct a soft ~'.
drink stand in the Gity Park was read. It was moved by Mr.
Diggans that Pdr. Kenyon's request be granted upon .payment of
the-usual oeeipational license fee. The motion was seconded
by ~4r. Berg and unanimously carried.
9: petition of the citizens living in the vicinity of
Northeast Third Avenue between Third and Fourth Streets for
a street light was read and on motion dulp made, seconded
and carried referred to the Light Committee.
Mr. Diggans, Chairman of the Park Committee, reported
that he had'3nvestigated the complaints filed by the Business
Pdens Association and recommended the adoption of a courtesy
card Por vaitdrs and that the Gity not interfere in any way
with the present 3oanagement. It was regularly moved seconded
and carried that the report be adopted and that the clerk be
authorized to have five hundred cards primed. ;-
The following motion was offered by Mr. Diggans:
That the Clerk be authorized and instructed to write the , ;,„~;;;
~ honorable G. E. Chllingworth advising him of the Paet that
the .City of Delray Beach was the.heaviest-,depositor in both
the Ocean'Citq Bank and the Delray Bank.& 'rust Company and
that the City Council desired to protest the sale of the
°' ,assets of these institutions and further requested that he
~,
~;> not approve the sale of same.. The motion was seconded by
~`; Mr. Crego and on rolg Dell unanimously carried.

The question of feeding the City prisioners was '~ ii
brought up by Mr. Crego. and discussed by members of the "~`I
t~-
Council. The matter was referred to P.+Tr. Cxego to investi-
gate and report.

The_. following-motion- was- offere&-by Mr. Berg: ~- - ~`~~
That the City Tax Assessor be and is hereby instructed to
prepare a supplementary personal tax roll and present same ~'
to the Council on Monday, September 5th, 1932, at 9:30 A.bi.
Notice of the above meeting to be published in the Delray
Beach News for two weeks. The motion was seconded by Mr. ~ ~;
Grego and on roll call unanimously carried. di'
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Clerk ~'
was authorized to sell a single grave 3n the cemetery to
Mrs, 4P. S. Jones.
The following motion was offered by Mr. Diggans:
That the Business Mens Association be extended an invita- ~_
tion to meet with the Council the first Tuesday in September
and offer any suggestions they might have with reference
to adopting the .yearly budget. The motion was seconded by ;-
Mr. Jacobs and unanimously carried. , a

The following motion was offered by Mr. Jacobs:
That the Clerk be instructed to publish the names of all ~-s~
persons receiving interest payment from tHlie City, giving
the coupon and bond numbers on which such payments are made.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Berg and unanimously carried.
It was mo9ed by Mr. Grego and seconded by Mr. Diggans
that the bill of 9.0~ presented by R. A. Plastridge for
services rendered`as special police officer be paid. On ¥
roll call the vote was as follows: Mr. Berg no, Mr. Cxego
yes, Mr. Diggans yes, Mr. Jacobs yes and Mr, Smith yes.
Mayor Hall then presented the Names of the following:°'
persons who had been appointed as special police and re-
quested that the Counc it approve the same

On motion duly made, seconded and carried this
matter was held over until the next regular meeting.
It was regularly moved, seconded and csarred that
current blls.be referred to the Finance Committee. The

Florida State Bank General Fund. i
