The Mayor and all members of the Couneil were present. -.The minutes of meetings held August 22nd, September 5th, 6th and 7th were read and approved. _ , Mr. Crego reported that he had investigated the matt of feeding City prisioners and found where meals could be furnished for twenty cents each, provided, the City would. deliver same and return the dishes. Mr. Diggans offered the following motion: That Mansfield furnish end deliver the meals to the colored prisioners at .twenty-five cents per meal and that white prisioners be furnished meals Yrom white restaurants un tried by the Court. The motion eras seconded by Mr. Jac and unanimously carried. C . .; A communication was read fxbm Ernest Amos, State Comptroller, regarding the collection of taxes on chain stores .and on motion duly fade, seconded and carried the Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Amos that it was the ' desire of the Council for him to proceed with the tax ~ , collections. ~:: The application of J. G. Ellingsworth for the po~sitie of life guard at the ocean beach was read and ordered filed A communication was read from Fred. E. Fenno, Clerk of the Gireuit Court, with reference to filing tax salel certificate and the Clerk was instructed t© pay the eharg of ~7,OQ. A communication was read Prom. the Delray Tax Adjus ment Company demanding: payment on certain 'past due ia~e coupons. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the'= matter was laid over. Mr. D. H. Parker tendered X149;50 in of taxes on Lots 1 and 2 in Blook 2, Ocean quested an extension of ninety days in whic; went of the improvement liens an said prppe ~~ ............_ ..... __ Council Chamber -September 12th, 1932. of Mr. Diggans, seconded by Mr. Jacobs, the Clerk was authorized to accept the tax payment and make the extension as'requested. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the City ~., Attorney was instructed to give further notice to delin- ~ quent tax payers in ti~ard One before starting foreclosure. The following motion was offered by Mr. Diggans: That the action taken at a regular meeting of the Council on August 22nd, with reference to protesting the approval of sale of securities of the Ocean City Bank and the Delray . ,~" ,~, Bank & Trust Company, be rescinded and the Clerk instructed, , , '~, to so advise Judge Chillingworth. The motion was seconded ~ by Mr. Ber and on roll call unanimously carried. . '~~~~ Mayor Hall then presented the following list of . special appointed police officers and requested the °ouneil ~ to confirm same: R. A. Plastridge, w: N. Kent, J. L. Priest;~;a C. N. MacLaren, B. C. Hall and Roy S. Cason. It was moved by B~Ir. Diggans and seeded by fir.
