COUNCIL CHAMBER
December 28th, 1931.
The Council met in regular session at 7:30 P. M.
The Mayor and all members of the Council were present.

The minutes of meetings held December 14th and F
December 21st were read and app oved.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Clerk
was instructed to secure 1932 tags for the City's automobile
trucks.
The application of the Delray Stars Baseball Club
requesting the use of the baseball park for a game on New
Years day was read. It was moved by Mr. Crego, that permiss-
ion be granted, the motion was lost for want of a second. .
A.aom6unication was read from the gmerioan La-France
and Foamite Corporation notifying the City that a note amount-
.. ing to X1,642.86 plus 197.14 interest, making a total of
$1,840.00, would be due and payable on December 31st. Mr.
Berg moved that the Clerk be authorized and instructed to
~" pay this note and interest. The motion was seconded by Mr. .a;f
Diggans and on roll call unanimously carried.
• Mayor Hall then addressed the Council and announced
the appointment of Mr. J. C. Johnson as Chief of Police.
It was regularly moved, seconded and on roll call unanimously
carried that the appointment be approved. Mayor Hall then
announced the appointment of Ray V. Priest as patrolman. Iat
was regularly moved, seconded and on roll call carried that
Mr. Priest's appointment be approved.
The oath of office was then administered to Chief
Johnson and patrolman Priest by the Mayor.
It was. regularly moved by Mr. Crego that the Chief
of Police make bond with some responsible surety company in
the sum of X1,000.00 for the faithful performance of duty.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Endsley and unanimously carried:' "',
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the matter
of planting two palm trees on City property near the Kentucky. y,=
House was referred to the ~ Committee for recommendation.

Mayor Hall then re ad a long fist of recommendations
for the consideration of the Council.

Mr. Crego then introduced the following motion:
That the salaries of the Mayor and the City Councilmen of
the City of Delray Beach, Florida, shall be X25.00 per month
after January 1st, 1932, This motion was lost for want of a
second.
Mr. Berg moved that the motion offered by Mr. Crego ~~~
be held over for consideratica~. The motion was seconded by
;;~ Mr. Diggans and carried.
Mr. Diggans then addressed the Council with refer-
ence to the bond situation.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried current
bills were referred to the Finance Committee. The following
bills having been audited and 0. K.td by the Finance Committee
were referred back to the Council and on roll call ordered +t.
