The Council met in regular session at T:30 P, P,i, The
Mayor and the following members of the Council were present: nIr.
Porter, Mr. "mith, blr. Troup and I"'Lrs. warfield.
The minutes of previous meetings were read and after correc-
tions approved.
The application of the Orange State Oil Company to install a
sixteen thousand gallon capacity oil tank on Lots 4 and 5 in
Block 91 was read but as the plans and specifications were not
complete action on this matter was deferred to an adjourned regpzlar
meeting to be held on Friday, July 26th, 1929,

The application to erect a dry cleaning plant on the rear of
the Simon lot was read and discussed but action oh the matter was
deferred until the ordinance comittee completed the drawing up of
an ordinance covering buildings constructed for dry cleaning
purposes.
A communication was read from the Biscayne Trust Company
asking that they be exempt from taxes o: tr.e building vr'nich they
propose erecting on the old Delray Motor Company site that was
destroyed in the September hurricane. I;4r. Porter then offered
the follo~~~ing motion: "Moved that the ~'ity purchase a five foot
(5) stip of land along Atlantic Avenue fro:: Biscayne Trust Com-
nany, their propert~T described as Lots 8 and. 9 in Bloeli 84, and
pay i'or such property, the same to be paid for by delivering paid
tax receipts covering taxes on the improvements to be erected on
the property of Biscayne Trust "ompany for a ;period of two years
including 1930 and 1931, provided, the Biscayne Trust Company
vrill proceed with the erection of a garage building immediately
to cost approximately X15,000, and, farther provided, that the
Biscayne Trust Company will nave, at its own expense, the five
foot strip of land so conveyed to the City and further provided
that ti=e now past due taxes and assessments on t=ie property be

i41r. Troup offered the following _ otion: That t'~e superintend-
ent of t_e golf links be instructed to furnish to the Council, ;lot
later tl-ian August 1st next, a complete list of all Delray and
Delray Beach patrons of said golf links, not includir_g tourists,
and the amount of money collected from. said patrons for the past
three years, `'onmiencing July 1st, 1926 and endir_g June 30th, 1929,
each gear to be listed separately. This motion was lost for want
of a second.
bTr. Porter reported that iV2r. B. C. Butler had offered to pur-
chase 512,000.00 worth of the Ocean City Bank Receivers certifica-
tes novv held by ti?e City for the sum of :x;500.00. It was .loved,
seconded and carried that ~`.r. Butlers offer be accepted.
It was regulary c:~oved, seconded and carried that the City
Attorney be instructed to proceed to foreclose on the mortgage now
held by the City against the Sculthorp property and the Clerk be
instructed to advance court costs of same, which would be approx-
imately 2;;50.00.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Council
adjourn to meet Friday, July 26th at 9 A• ~1•
