07-26-29 Adjourned Regularzoo r COUI~7CI1 ROOS;1 July 26th, 1929. The Council met in adjourned regular session at 9 A, P?., all members of the council vrere present. Matters pertaining to the Equalization Board were taken up. All property ov~mers whose valuations had been raised by the Equalization Board &~ having been notified of said action and that the Board would sit at this time to hear any and all pro- tests that mi=;ht be filed, otherwise, said assessments would be considered final and accepted. No one having filed any protests either by letter or person the follor;ing resolution was then in- troduced: "4~RF.AaS, the.City Council of the City of Delray Beach, F''lorida, did sit on Tuesday, July 2nd, 1929 as an Equalization Board on the 1929 tax roll for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving testimony as to the value of any property, real or personal, as fixed by the City Tax Assessor, of perfecting, re-, viewing and equalizing the assessment and 4'l~~REAS the Board did adjourn from time to time until July 26th, 1929 to hear said complaints and 4')'?I'P,EAS all complaints have been leard and have been adjust- ed satisfactorily by said Board 5704'1, TH~?EFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of .Delray Beach, Florid a, Sec. 1. That it is the sense of said Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that said values of property, real or personal, have been perfected, reviewed and equalized, /,~,,.~4"3 ~3, y/b', Sec. 2, That said roll, mmounting to .~3.266,siso be accepted and confirmed and same is hereby declared to/be the offic- ial tax assessment roll of the City of Delray Beach; Florida, for the year 1929. Mr. Troup moved the adoption of the resolution, which was seconded by Mr. Keen and on roll call unanimously carried..° The Equalization Board having completed its work it was regul- W. arly moved, seconded and carried that they adjourn sine die. The Council resumed labor in regular adjourned session at 10 A. I!?. Mr. Glover, of the Orange State Oil Company, had prepared and presented plans and specifications of their proposed plant on lots 211. Council Room - July 26th, 1929. 5 and 6 in Block 91. The plans and location vaere gone over and discussed, after which Mr. Troup moved that a per?riit be granted to erect their plant as applied for. The motion was seconded by h?r. Smith and unanimously carried. Pdr. Troup then introduced the fol=owing ordinance, which was read in full: BE IT ORDAII<TED BY mI~ CITY COUA?CIL OF T?=E CITY OI' DELRAY BEACH, FLOFBIDA: That after the passage of this ordinance that seventeen (17~) percent. of w'~e penalty of twenty-five (25°fo) percent, be remitted on all unredeemed tax sale certificates held by the City of Delra Beach, Florida, provided that same is paid within six months (6}Y after the passage of this ordinance. Be it further ordained that this ordinance shall only be in force and effect for and during the period of six (6) months after the passage hereof, and that same shall automatically become null and void six (6) months from the date of the passage hereof. All ordinances or parts of ordinance in conflict herewith are hereby made subject to this ordinance." Nr. Troup moved that the ordinance be passed on its first reading, was seconded by Mr. Keen and on roll call carried. The follovaing ordinance was then introduced and read in full: AP7. TTY CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA. Mr. Keen moved that the ordinance be passed on its first reading, vrhich was seconded by Pair. Smith and u_nani;-~;;t;.:~i~- carried. Mr. Keen was appointed a committee of one to call on the Trust Company of Florida to see what arrange~ients could be made in regard to having their hotels, located in Delray Beach, pur- chase certain membership cards or otherwise contribute to the up keep of the golf course. • iv'ir. smith, of the street OoRUnittee, reported that certain repairs ~,~ere needed badly on 4th Street S. Vl, and on 2nd Avenue ~!. E., and it vaas regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Street Committee be authorized to males such repairs as they deemed necessary ~n these streets.
