The engineers having completed the tabulation of the bids
on the water plant the figures were presented to the Couneil for
consideration and discussion.

Company for pumps and machinery were the low bidders. Mr. Keen
then offered the following motion: That the contract for all of
the water works improvements eaoept the furnishing and installing
of pumps end except ~i.eh work as the City contemplated doing be
awarded to Mr. w. W. Lotapeich and that the contract for the fur-
nishing-and installing the pumps and machinery be awarded tc
Fairbanks, Morse G~pany, The motion was seconded by Mr. Troup
and on roll call unanimously carried.
A permit was granted Mr. John I. g'hieme to erect a garage
ca the Starr property,
The Council then ad~ourtted to meet w®dneaday, 8epte~mber
