COIINCIL ROOM
September 23rd, 1929.
The Council met in regular session at 7:30 P. M.
The Mayor and the following members of the Council were
presents Mr. Keen, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Troup.
Mr. Smith was on motion duly made, seconded and
oarried elected president pro tam to preside at this meeting:
The minutes of previous meetings were read and
approved.
The Mayor appointed the following members to serve
on the Finance Committee pro tam: Mr. Smith in place of Mr.
Porter during his absence and Mr. Troup to fill Mrs. warfielda
place during her absence.
It was regularly moved, seoonded and carried that
current bills be referred to the Finance Committee.
The Mayor and Clerk were authori.aed to pay for a
oar load of pipe and fittings ordered from the National (7eat
Iron PSpe company when same was received and 0. K. 'd by the
City Engineer.
Mr. Troup recommended that the lots in the oem®tery
be marked and numbered and it was regularly moved, seconded
and carried that this be done.
Mr. Smith, Chairman of the Street Committee, re-
orted that he had purchased a lawn mower for the Gity for
20,00.
The Mayor called the attention oP the Council to
the condition of the lights at the Atlantic avenue crossing
of the Florida East Coast Railroad. The superintendent of
signals for the company. was present and advised the Council
that they were now working on a plan to install automatic
signals at that place. The matter was on motion duly made,
seconded and carried referred to the Street Committee with
power to act.
Mr. C. Y. Byrd came before the ~ouneil and requested
_ ~ an expression in regard to certain proposed beach improvements.
Mr. Troup offered the following motion: That the matter be 4
referred to the Street committee to co-operate with the Public

Affairs Committee of the Riwanis Club. The motion was
seconded by DAr. Keen and unanirgously carried.
Current bills having been ohecked and 0. R.fd by
the Finanoe Committee were on motion duly made, seoonded and
parried referred back to the Council and ordered paid.. ,
The Couneil adjourned.
