Council Room
October 24th, 1929.
The Council met in special session at 9:30 A. M. on
call of the Mayor. The PuTayor and the following members Prere
present: Mr. Keen, Mr. Porter, Mr. Smith and Mr. Troup.
Mr. Smith was on motion duly made, seconded and
carried, elected president pro tem to preside at this meeting.
Mr. R. S. Erskine was present and went into details
in reference to the construction of a minim ure golf course.
He proposed to constraet an maintain'"~ghteen hold golf
course and pay the City two per cent~f the gross receipts from
said course and supervise and care for the shuffle board courts,
for and in consideration of the Citing him a lease for three
years on a strip of land/50~L00'~fo a term of three years.
Mr. Porter then offered the following motion: That
--• the City enter into a contract to lease to Mr. R. S. Erskine a
portion of the City Park to be used as a minature golf course
for a period of three years. The specific terms etc. to be set
up in the contract and that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to
enter into such contract after same has been approved by the City
Council. The motion was seconded by Mr. Keen and on roll call
unanimously carried.
Mr. Porter reported that an offer of $100.00 had been
made for four palm trees located on City property in Osceola
Park, It was moved by Mr. Troup and seconded by Mr. Keen that
the City accept this offer contingent on the buyer filling up
all holes that might be made in the moving of the trees. The
motion was unanimously carried.
The Clerk was instructed to write parties holding
bonds and interest coupons maturing ?TOVember first, advising them
that it would be a matter of sixty daps or more before the City
would be in position to place funds to meet maturities with the
fiscal agents.
