COUNCIL R00~,
E~Tay 14th, 1928.
Before the Council opened a committee from the Boy
Scouts appeared and presented the Mayor a copy of the Boy
Scout Manual and offered their services to the City at any
time needed. The Mayor accepted the Manual and thanked tine
boys for their offer and assured them of his cooperation as
well as the Citys' at all times.
The Council met in regular meeting, the Rsyor and all
members of the Council were present. Mr. Troup presided.
Communications from "P.obile" Bill Jackson were read and
the Clerk was instructed to draw a voucher covering the nine
days work due him and forward same and advise Wx. Jackson that
they were not prepared at this time to enter into a contract
for the emming season.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the
collateral offered by the Central Farmers Bank & Trust Company
be accepted.
Mr. Troup reported as having secured the consent of Mrs.
Haines to occupy her lot on the corner of At]antic Avenue and
the Dixie Highway until after the Elks Convention in July.
It was moved by Mr. Been, seconded by Mrs. 9Varfield,
that the cleaning up campaign be continued for another two
weeks.. The motion was carried unanimously.
The application of Mrs. Haines, requesting a permit to
erect an apartment house on the Beach, was referred to the
Street Committee with instructions to report at the next
regular meeting.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the
request of J. MYera 8c Son for a refund of 4.00 on a plumbing.
permit be granted.
A communication was read Prom Mrs. &iargaret C. L. Smith
and the same was ordered filed.
AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, REGULATI2dG TRAFFIC CROSSIitG SIDEi~ALkS was read
in full and it was regularly moved, seconded and carried unani-
mously that it be passed on its second and final reading and
be adopted.

Council Room - &iay 14th, 1928.
Ivir. Frank Bedell appeared before the Council and spoke
in favor of zoning laws and suggested that a committee of five
be appointed to cooperate with the City Council in arranging
the preliminaries pertaining to such an ordinance. It was.
moved by Dirs. Warfield, seconded by Air. Keen, and unanimously
carried that the Mayor and the president of the Council appoint
such a committee.
A report from the Shrine Club Entertainment Committee
was presented. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried
unanimously that the City purchase the sign boards, lumber and
decoration materials for the sum of 241.83.
A4r. U. B. Williams came before the Council and presented
a request for a refund on water mains installed in Rosemont
Park at a cost of 1685.00. He offered to give full satis-
faction of this claim on payment of 800.00. On motion by
I4ir. Smith, seconded by bTrs. Warifled, this matter was referred
to the Water and Light Committee with instructions to report
at the next meeting.
It was moved by NIr. Jacobs,. seconded by DSr. Keen and
unanimously carried that the matter of widening the pavement
on the Federal Highway be dropped.
It was moved, seconded axed carried that the current bills
be referred to the Finance Commmttee. Current bills having
been approved by the Finance Gommittee were ordered paid.
