~_4 COL'PdCI1, ROOM June 25th, 1928. The Council met in regular session, the h?ayor and all mem- bers of the Council were present. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. The committee appointed at the last meeting for the purpose oP investigating the Peasibilit,~,r of purchasing additional fire equipment requested further time in which to consider the chatter,., The committee was continued and further time granted. b.r. been reported that he had had an analysis made of water taken from the golf course well and the same was reported as being,<< pure. His committee requested and was granted further time to consider the water proposition. IvTr. E. C. Hall appeared before the Couhcil again in refer- ence to improvement assessments against.iiis property in Block 137: A letter was read from A~,r. B. F. Svndy in reference to the matter, . after whicki Mr. Smith, ohairman of the Street Committee, made the '; , following report; The Street Committee hereby reports that in then matter of the request oP t?r. Keen yea, Mr. Smith yea, L~Srs. 7larfield nay, and l~r. Troup nay. A communication accompanied by a bill Prom PSr. T. A. Rawla ~' for damage to a sewer line laid Prom Zot 17 in Block 109 was read before the Council and was moved, seconded and carried unanimously that the claim be dennied. A communication from ~.?r. A. Simon relative to the using" EYi"' `^"' dry closets in the colored section oP the City was on motion made seconded and carried referred to the Sanitary Committee. A communication from &?r. E. C. Hall relative to speeding on' the netiv Federal Highway was read. ~?agor Johnson e~~ered the ' suggestion that speed limit signs be placed at the en£ranee to the- City making the speed limit twenty-five miles per. hour. It was moved, seconded and carried that 'the current bills be referred to the r^inance Committee. IlIrs. 'JJarfield, Chairman of the Finance Committee, introdu- ced the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY TT~~, COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH THAT ALL. TADS COLLECTED ON SPECIAL, ASSESST:;~TdTS FOR THE YEAR 1927 AISD HEREAFTER SHALL BE SEPARATED AND DEPOSITED SEPbRATELY IN TIC DEPOSITORY OF SAID CITY TO THE CREDIT OF THAT PARTICULAR FUND FOR r+'HTCII SAID ASSESSIl4EIdTS YJERE LEVIED. On motion by Ivlr. Keen, seconded by Il4rs. rJarfield, the resolution was adopted unanimously. The current bills having been OIL'd by the Finance Committee on motion made seconded and carried were. ordered paid. Fire Chief Cook recommended the purchase of five hundred feet of standard fire hose at a cost of X1.40 per foot. On motion- of Il:r. Smith, seconded by hir. Keen and unanimously carried this matter was referred to the Ordinance Committee. Tv4ayor Johnson recommended to the Council that the City establish a municipal nursery, on a portion of the golf grouxids, After some discussion it was moved seconded and carried that e, committee be appointed to co-operate with *..?r. Hicks and refer back to the Council. Il4rs. Warfield, Pir. Keen and IlTr. Jacobs were appointed on this committee. .z.g The Fire Chief reported a broken cable in La Hacienda and it was moved, seconded and carried that this matter be referred to the 4Yater and Light Committee. Fire Chief Cook requested the use of the vacant room on the second floor of the City Hall, known as the Engineers room, to be.~~," used for club room purposes for the members of the Fire Department «tXf It was moved by bs. Keen, seconded by Pair. Smith, and unanimously carried that this matter be referred to the Ordinance Committee. The question of entering into a contract with the band to give concerts during the coming season was discussed. It was moved by Il4r. Smith, seconded by Pir.
