July 3rd, 1928.
According to the charter of the City of Delray Beach the
City Council met at 9 A. TvT. to act as an Eoyualization Board on
tax assessments for the year 1928.
Among those appearing before the board tivere Harry hockhart;.
Tfikse Blank, J. J. Schabinger, George Reigle, Greely Rhoden,
Iaambert Tdichols and Franees Bright. A communication was also
received from-Byrd and Porter in behalf of Eugene Burds apart-
ment house. Upon investigation it was found that all of these
assessments were in line with adjacent properties and no reduc '''
tions tvere made.
,`+s. Roberts, who is engineer for -the Florida Power ~C I+ight
Company called on the Council. He expressed himself as being
ready to help the Water Committee at any time to install e`new '''
weer system.

b,s'. ~J. E. Wilcox stated ti~.t his assessment was out of line ~ w
in view of tiie fact that the personal property assessed to h1m sw '"
really belonged to the American Agricultural Chemical Company.
It was moved, seconded anal carried that the assessor be instrue-:r~'~'
ted to place a valuation of X250.00 on I,Tr. Wilcoxs personal =-
property and that a x"500.00 valuation be assessed to the American.~°
Agricultural Chemical Company.

The Board ordered assessments corrected on hot 11 of the ~~''+
subdivision of Section 21 T'.46 R. 43 belonging to H. D. I{irk from
x"2100.00 to x"1740.00. This amount was arxived at by correcting`°'
the acreage from fourteen acres to 11.6 acres.
It was moved by l3Sr. Smith, seconded by AIr. Jacobs and unani-
mously carried that the City Attorney be consulted as to exemp- '°
Lions on all church property, the VJomana Club and other similiar
property.
The Board adjourned to meet July 5th.
