Rutledge appeared before the Council and protested the assessment of the Casa Del Rey Hotel claiming it was out of line withother similiar buildings. 8fter comparing the property with other assessments it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that this assessment be reduced from 30,000.00 to x'24,000.00. Mr. Roy Harvel, on behalf of the Standard Oil Cornpany, pro- tested against the corporation tax. A motion was made, seconded= and carried that the assessor be instructedyto change the assgss-~ went Bn the Standard Oil property from X11,475.00 to 4,500.00 , and that it be assessed as personal property tax, not corporation: It was moved by kr. Keen and seconded by L'Ir. Jacobs that the« assessment of buildings and machinery belonging. to the Southeast -. ern Ice ~ Cold Storage Company be changed 3rom 40,000 to 24,200.00. The motion was carried unanimously. C. Keen and also on the home of ," H. J. Shuttleworth, formerly the Matt Gracey home. It was also regularly moved, seconded and carried that a 9.,000.00 apraisement be placed on the A. G. Evans home and that the assessment on the H. G. Hager house in Dell Park be left at a{ X5,000.00. It was moved, seconded and carried that the assessment_on ~"{ the B.•F. Sundy house on Swinton Avenue be placed at 13,000.00 and that the Grover Baker house be assessed at 5,000.00 and that of J. H. Atkins, Sr., at 6,000.00, the assessment of Z. w. Johnson home in Dell Park be raised to X3,500.00. Also block 128, the N2 of Lot 1 at 1,000.00, lot 2 at X850.00 and lot 3 at 850.00, Lots 4, 5 and 6 at 300.00 each. The following assessments were changed in Block 126: ° S~ of Block 128-the N. 87.6' of the S~- of block belonging to Clayton Andrews was assessed at 1150,00; the S. 70' of the S~ of Block 128 belonging to Frank Hand assessed at 792.00; the Sig of Block 128, less 87.6' belonging to r"J. C. Wright assessed at y~1686.00. "~" It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that Lot 1 in d 6 Block 120 be assessed at 427.00 and that lots 2,3,4,5 an F inclusive be assessed at 825.00 each. Assessments on the N2 of Block 120 were also changed, namely ° " 650.00, Lot 23 750.00, Lots 19,20 and 21 X500.00 each, Lot 22 x r and Lot 24 850.00. ~~ The SE of Block 120 was found out of line and assessments changed as follows: N. 43.8' of N. 87.6' of the S~, property of <' R.
