The Council met in regular session, the fi`ayor aril all
members of the Council were present.
PTinutes of the previous meetings were read and after
corrections were approved.
The Committee appointed at the last meeting to investiga#e
the advisability of bstablishing a nursery on a portion of the
golf grounds was continued.

The condition of the approaches and sides of the street
along the Federal highway was discussed and the Clerk was n-
structed to again write the State Road Department requesting.
that this matter be at£ended to at the earliest date possible. -.;
Pv;r. Keen, chairman of the Viater Committee, reported that
his committee was not as yet ready to take formal action-regard-'-'
ing the new water plant site and after some discussion the
committee was continued.
A communication from P,:r. Fred E. Fenno, Clerk of the. fl
Circuit Court, calling attention to an outstanding tax oertifi- ':
Cate on a portion of the City Park, amounting to X29.22, was-
read, and on motion duly madq, seconded and carried the Clerk
was instructed to pay same off.
A communication from LZessrs. Byrd Z Porter, attorneys for
Sophie Frey, in reference to dedicating a strip of land for use`
of a street teas referred to the City Attorney.
A communication from the Kiwanis Club in reference to the.
beautification and upkeep of the lot on the corner of Atlantic.
Avenue and the Dixie Highway was read and on motion duly ma.de;"
seconded and carried the president of the Council was authorize
to appoint aspecial committee to ascertain if the owners of the:"
lot would give their consent for the same to be used for park
purposes.

The question of creating a juvenile court was discussed and
on motion duly made, seconded and carried the Ordinance Committee'?.
ryas instructed to introduce an ordinance covering this matter.
The ouestion of mowing the school ground was then diaeussed
and it was moved, seconded and carried that this matter be refer-
red to A:r. Nicks, S;~Ir. Smith and SvTr. Keen.
A committee from the Chamber of Commerce, composed of It4r.
tiJalsmith, P;Ir. Schabinger, T~ir. VJilcos and others appeared and ask-
ed for an appropriation of 1800.00 to be used for publicity pus
poses t'rrru the Chamber of Commerce. The matter was tkken under •µ
condideration. •
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Street ~ommittd'y
was instructed to remove the word Shrine from certain sign `?_
boards which they recently erected along the highway. ;~'
It ryas moved, seconded and carried that current bills bC
referred to the Finance Committee. :-
The Ordinance Committee was instructed to prepare and in-
troduce an ordinance prohibiting persons under sixteen years of
• age from drivi_.g automobiles within the City limits.
Current bills having peen 0. K.'d by the Finance Committee..,
were referred back to the CoLmeil and ordered paid.
The matter of erecting a shed or building at the golf
grounds for the purpose of storing machinery and tools was dis
cussed. It was i!ioved by T~Ir. Smith, seconded by TrSr. Keen, and
unanimously carried that T:Ir. Hicks and TMTr. Swanson be instructed
to proceed with this building at once, hiring such help as necOS-'°''
nary. 1tiir. Jacobs insisted that all work be done by union men. w>.~,
