September 10th, 1928..
The Council met in redul~.r session with the Yellewin~ mem-
bers presents DSr. Keen, Mr. Jaaoba, Mr. Smith, Mr. Troup and Mrs.
Warfield:
The minutes of the previous meetinra were read and after
being corrected were approved.
The Finance Committee requested and was granted Yurther
time in regard to the matter oP reYinancind certain bonds and
interest coupons maturing October first.
Mr. Keen, chairman eY the GPater ,t I.i$ht Cemml~tee, reported
that they were working on plane preparatory to testing the new
well and hoped to begin pumpin6 within a day or two.
Mr. Troup, who had been appointed a committee of one to 'aloe
reaommendationa redardin~ the old Chamber of Commerce building,
recommended that the window and door loaka be repaired and that a
custodian be appointed to look after same.
Mr. T. F. E111a requested a permit to repair the old Simon
building on Atlamtie Avenue. It was moved by Mr. Smith, seconded
by Mr. Keen and unanimously carried that the Clerk be instructed
to issue a permit providing said repairs did not exceed a coat oY
over ~12b.00.
t communication was read from Mr. E. H. Filby, Chief Engin-
eer for the State Board oY Health, in reference to the cleaning of
water mains and the Clerk was instructed to again write him Yor
more definite inYormation. `^

A eommuhiaation Yrom the -elray Quick Tire Service wsa read
requesting a permit to lay a two inch pipe line Yrom the Florida
East Coast Railway to their new proposed site on the corner oY
Atlantic Avenue and the Federal Highway. It was moved, seoonded
and serried that the matter me referred to a special committee ~'i°
composed oY Mr. Jacob a, Mr. Keen and ]tr. Troup. r ~;
The president then brought up the matter of reaodiYying and
indexing the City Ordinaneea. The matter was dicousaed at some
length and. it was then moved by Mr. Keen, seoonded by Mr. Smith
and unanimously serried that the Council take this matter up at an
adjourned meeting to be held Wednesday, $eptember 12th at two P. M.

Current bills having been 0. K.'d by the Finance Committee
were referred back to the Council and ordered paid.
Mayor Johnson called the attention of the Counoil to the
.unsafe condition of the new Federal Highway at a point where the
pavement is narrowed, which is about Your blocks IPorth of Atlantis,
Avenue and suggested that they place signs or markers at these
points. It. was moved by Mr. Keen, seconded by Mrs. Warfield and
unanimously carried that the Mayor be authorized to place such
signs as he deemed necessary to regulate traffic on the Federal
Highway and also to place a new traffic light at the intersection
of Atlantis Avenue and the Federal Highway.
It was moved by Mr. Smith and seconded by Mrs. Warfield that
the Clerk be instructed to issue a cheek to Miss. Sadie Sundy Yor
$50.00 to reimburse her for extra work done during the abaenoe of
Miss. Cramp.
It was then moved, seconded and carried that the Council
adjourn to meet September 12th at 2 P. M.
