09-24-28 Regular3I COUNCIh :ROOAi September 24th, 1928. The Council met in regular session with the following mem- bers present: Mr. Johnson, Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Keen, L~r. Troup. Minutes of the previous meetings were read. and approved. The Special Committee appointed to inquire into the matter of granting a permit to the Delray Quiok Tire Company to lay a pipe line on first alley South reported that they were securing information from different sources but at this time were not ready to make a report. Further time was granted the committee. ; The Mayor requested further time in the matter of erecting a atop sign at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and the Fed- eral Highway. A communication was read from the Atlantic National Bank at Jacksonville requesting the return of the Federal Reserve Bank receipt for 35,000.00 in order that the same might beex- changed.for other securities. It was moved by Mr. Keen, seaonded by Mr. Jacobs and unanimously carried that the Clerk be instructed to return these securities as requested. It was moved by Mr. Keen and seconded by Mr. Jacobs that the Clerk be instructed to transfer the sum of X10,000.00 from the Atlantic National Bank, Jacksonville, to the Central Farmers Bank of West Palm Beach. The motion was carried unanimously. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Clerk was instructed to forward suffiicient funds irow'in the Atlantic National Bank to the National Bank of Commerce, New York, to meet interest coupons maturing October first. Mr. Hicks reported that he had a contractor make an eatin,- ate of the. damage to the buildings at the golf club and the same amounted to 450.00. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the matter of repairing these buildings was continued with the Mayor and Mr. Hicks. ' Mr. Billings requested a permit to open a fish market on ~ Atlantic Avenue near the Florida Beat Coast Railway. It was moved, seconded and carried that this matter be referred to the -' Sanitary Committee. ti J e~ Council Room - September 24th, 1928. The City Attorney and Clerk reported that in accordance with notioe previously served on the receiver oP the Delray Bank & Trust Company the securities held by the City to secure certain certificates oP deposit in said bank were sold at auction on September 24th at 10 A. M. to IlSsyor Johnson, repres- enting the Gity of Delray Beach, Por the sum of X72,348.05. The City Attorney also reported collections on collateral securities amounting to 8,929.13 gross. After deducting the expense oY Foreclosure, interest, taxes etc. leaving a net balance of X5,487.36, which he turned over to the City Clerk. On motion duly made, seconded and carried these reports were received and accepted and the action oP the City Clerk and Attorney were ratified and approved. Mr. J. H. Adams oYYered to buy the seoond mortgage on the McI,elland house in Del Ida Park Por the sum oP Five Hundred Dollars cash. It was moved by fir. Jacobs and seconded by Z~r. Keen that the offer be accepted subject to the approval oP tYie Nisyor. The motion was carried.
