October 17th, 1928.
The Council met in special session at 2 P. bS. on call of
ttie bleyor. All members of the Council were present. '
bir. Smith, Chairman o° the Committee on Building Permits,
stated that in keeping with the emergency ordinance dust adop-
ted he had requested the Mayor to call this meeting in refer-
ence to discussing an application for a building permit to erect
;~; a one story packing and warehouse near the Seaboard depot.
bir. I. J. Sinks, representing the Progressive Builders, Inc.,
s"~" and Mr. Smith a construction e
ngineer far the Seaboard Railroad
were present and exhibited a blue print and gave a detailed
.„:, description of the proposed building, which showed much stronger
structure than the one previously erected on this site.
It was moved by bir. Keen and seconded by_.Mrs. Warfield that
a permit be granted the Progressive Builders to construct this
building according to plans and specifications, together with
such verbal additions as to strengthening and reinforcing
_.. certain parts. On roll call the vote was as follows: bir.
Jacobs yea, bor. Keen yea, bor. Smith yea, &Sr. Troup no, b4rs.
4Jarfield yea. The motion was carried.
There being no further business to come before the meeting
the Council adjourned.
