October 29th, 1928.
The Council met at 7;30 P. M. in regular adjourned session.
The Mayor and all members of the Council were present.
The matter of replacing the cover on the Gity water tank was
discussed. Action was deferred in order to give the Committee
time in which to investigate the type of covering desired.
The TuSayor brought up the matter of having the Florida East
Go-ast Railroad open up and construct the street crossing at North
East First Street. After a lengthy discussion it was moved by
Mr. Keen, seconded by r-irs. Warfield and unanimously carried that
the matter be referred to the City Attorney for action.
Mr. Smith, Chairman of the Street Committee, reported that
he was getting information regarding the matter oP straightening
- and repairing the old Chamber of Commerce Hall. The committee
was instructed to secure bids and estimates on completing the work
It was moved by D,1r. Keen and seconded by A~Ir. Smith that the
City furnish water for the Checker Club for the coming season gratig
The motion YJae carried.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Street Commi-
ttee was authorized to purchase such sewer pipe as was necessary to
complete certain work as described by irir. Smith.
It was moved, seconded and carried that the matter of remov-
ing trash from the alley in the rear of the Love Drug Compan~~ be
referred to the Sanitary Committee.
It was moved by tSr. Smith, seconded by P;x. Jacobs end regular-
ly carried that the City offer the motorcycle now in the Cit=~ garage
for sale at a cash price of X75.00.
There being no further business to come before the meeting
the Council adjourned.
