November 13th, 1928.
The Council met in adjourned regular session at 7.30 p, IrI,
The Ivla.yor, I~ir. Jacobs, is?r. Smith, fir. Troup and Irrs. '+7arfield
were present.
The minutes of the previous meetings cvere read and approved .'
Dr. J. R. Cason, Sr., appeared before tYie Council in the
interest of having the crossing over the F. i;. C. Railroad at
Northeast First Street opened and asked the Council to give this
matter their earnest consideration.
Nirs. Warfield, chairman of the Finance Committee, reported r
that the committee had met at the Ocean City Bank and appraised
the securities held as collateral against certain deposits in
the said Ocean City Bank.

The City Attorney reported that he had succeeded in secur-
ing title to the Rista Hotel property and that a complete trans-
fer of same had been fade. ;;
Nirs. tiVarfield reported that her committee had inspected the
City properties and had a contractor make a list of the necessary
repairs.
A4r. Harvey, an architect from Vlest Palm Beach, came before "'
the Cotmcil in the interest of Iuir. J. T. Lees request for a per- -`
mit to erect a gas filling station and explained his diagrams, X
drawings eta. TYie matter was referred to the permit committee.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried a comr:iunication
from the Vlomans Club in reference to tax refund was referred to
the City Attorney.

A communication was reed from Rir. E. C. Hall representing ~'"
the public announcement system in which he proposed to furnish ~'
concerts to the City during the coming season at the rate of
X12.00 per concert with a mimimum of eighty-four concerts. The ~,~~,
matter was referred to the Sinance Committee to report at the ~~
next regular meeting.
- I~Ir. Sellers, who had worked up some tentative plans and
specifications for repairing the ocean j-each, presented them to
the Council and explained the approximate cost o£ same. On

motion dul~T made seconded and carried this matter was referred
to the Finance Committee to report at the next meeting.
A communication was read from P~1r. J. H. Adams in reference
to a committee from the City Council being appointed to represent
the Community Christmas tree. btrs. Warfield and Tr?r, keen were
appointed on this committee.
It was moved, seconded and carried that Bor. Priest, IlIr.
Noble and T~4r. Pifiller be granted permits to repair their houses
with a shingle roof and that they also be advised of the ordin-
ance now in existence whereby all shingle roofs must be dispensed
with in 1933.
President Troup requested that the P:4ayor, pity Clerk and
the Chairmen of all standing committees prepare and present a
report of their accomplishments during the past year at the next
re„~-ular meeting.
In the matter of the reques+, of the Community Church to erect
a sign on Atlantic Avenue it was referred to P~Tr. Smith.
In the matter of the repairs to the old Chamber of Commerce
Hall, Ivfr. Cmith recommended that the roof be repaired at once and
estimates be gotten on general repairs for that building. It was
moved, seconded and carried that this matter be referred to the
Street Committee.
The matter of repairing certain streets was also referred do
the Street Committee for recommendation.
LZr. Smith, Chairman of the Street Committee, reported that a
part of the street pavement recently constructed in ~outhridge
was not in accordance with plans and specifications. L:r. P4oore,
the Contractor, was present and agreed to have this matter atten-
ded to at an early date.
It was moved by :Rr.-~-~roeri and seconded by P.4r. Jacobs that Par.
Smith be authorized to employ a competent engineer to make the
necessary estimates on the Southridge paving. The motion was
carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council
