The Council met in special session at 3 P. D?. The P;ayor
and all members of the Council were present.
Ysr. Smith reported that his committee had visited Fort
Lauderdale and gone over the matter of installing gasoline tanks
of large capacity with the fire chief of that City, cvho had made
quite a study of installing gasoline stations, and found that he
was permitting stations of this kind to be installed in that City.`
The following resolution was then presented:
RLSOLVEll that the permit when applied for by A4r. J. T. lee
to erect a gasoline filling station be granted provided the
application and description as contained in tt~e permit is sub-
stantially the same as outlined in the sketch submitted to the
Council and provided further that the tank. be placed not nearer
than ten feet from any structure or building.
It was moved by P'Ir. Smith, seconded by P,~Tr. keen and unani-
mousl~r carried that the same be adopted.
:,rs. +darfield, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported
that her committee had peen working o~i a plan whereby the ocean
beach could be improved v!ithout an outlay of any cash arul recom-
mended tnat plans drawn. The committee further recemriended
that the matter be taken up with the County Board of Revenue
with a view of securing the services of the County :ngineer. The*'
Finance Comrittee vans instructed to see the County Board of F?evy.

On motion duly made, seconded and. carried the Clerk was suth-'
orized to purchase a new typewriter.

Current bills having been referred to and 0. E.'d by the
Finance Committee were on motion duly made, seconded and carried
referred back to the council and ordered paid.

The follrnaing petitions of candidates for the office of City
Councilmen at ]a rge having been filed with the Clerk and found to
have been signed by the required ntunber of voters, it was moved

seconded and carried that tYie followin{; names be declared the
regular candidates and the Cleri: was authorized to proceed to
have the re~istsation list checked and make other necessary
arrari~ements to~~~ards holding the election on December 4th, 192.8.
