A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, TERMINATING THE STATE OF
EMERGENCY PREVIOUSLY DECLARED IN RESPONSE TO
HURRICANE DORIAN PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 95 OF THE CITY
CODE OF; PROVIDING AND AN EFFECTIVE DA TE AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on August 29, 2019, Mayor Shelly Petrolia declared a State of Emergency in response
to Executive Order 19-189 (Emergency Management - Hurricane Dorian) issued by Governor Ron Desantis
declaring a State of Emergency in every county in the State of Florida;
WHEREAS, Hurricane Dorian has passed, and the City has completed its recovery efforts;
WHEREAS, a State of Emergency no longer exists in the City of Delray Beach; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Shelly Petrolia, as the official who declared the emergency, does hereby
deactivate the City's Emergency Management system and in accordance with Chapter 95 of the City of
Delray Beach Code of Ordinances does hereby terminate the previously declared State of Emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, that:
Section l. The State of Emergency previously proclaimed on August 29, 2019 within the City of
Delray Beach, Florida is hereby terminated.
Section 2. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby directed to reinstate normal operations and
procedures for all City operations and business as a State of Emergency no longer exists.
