A RESOLUTION OF TI-IE QTY OF DELRAY BEAŒI
AU1HORIZING FLORIDA POWER AND LIGIDTO INSTALL
LED STREET LIGIDS AS PART OF TI-IE SW 41H ST, SW 61H
ST, SW 71H A VE, AND SW 3RD CT NEIGHBORHOOD
IMPROVEJ\1ENTS PROJECT AND AU1HORIZING PA YJ\1ENT
IN A NOT-TO-EXŒED AMOUNT OF $100,000 FOR TI-IE
DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF TI-IE LED FIXTIJRES;
AND PROVIDING FORAN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND OTI-IER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach (City) and the Community Redevelopment Agency
(ŒA) approved a neighborhood improvements project (Project) at SW 4th Street, SW 6th Street, SW
7th Avenue and SW 3rd Court to improve the infrastructure and safety of the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Project, the City intends to replace the existing cobra-head fixtures
with LED fixtures to enhance public safety and electrical efficiency; and
WHEREAS, Florida Power and Light (FPL) requires the City to pay the Cost in Aid of
Construction (QAQ for the design and installation of fixtures prior to the commencement of any
work; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems approval of this Resolution to be in the best interest
of the health, safety, and welfare of the residents and citizens of the City of Delray Beach and the
public at large.
NOW, TI-IEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY TI-IE QTY COlvIMISSION OF TI-IE QTY
OF DELRAY BEAŒI, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby affirmed and ratified.
Section 2. The City of Delray Beach hereby approves the replacement of the existing
cobra-head fixtures with LED fixtures to enhance public safety and electrical efficiency in the SW 4th
Street, SW 6th Street, SW 7th Avenue and SW 3'-d Court project, subject to the City's regulatory authority
and the Code of Ordinances.
Section 3. The City Commission authorizes payment in a not-to-exceed amount of
$100,000 for the design and installation of fixtures as part of the neighborhood improvements project
at SW 4th Street, SW 6th Street, SW 7th Avenue and SW 3rd Court.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
