January,25th,1926.
The council met in regular session the P,"ayor
presiding. Councilmen - Barwick, I'vans, ~nd Jelks, were
presents councilmen Sandy and O'Neal were absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read

and approved.
A,Zr.J,S;,Troup appeared before the council in regard
to the construction of streets and roads in the vicinity
of the eemetary - the matter was referred to the Street
Committee.
The A~~Iayor announced the appointment of Reese
Ahitchell as fire chief in place of Adr.A.J.~dams who had
declined Lhe appointment. It was moved,seeonded,and carried
that the appointment be confirmed.
The following resolution was laid before the

TTiA?ER~'.4S A;Zr.F.E.Bryant and A:tr.F.G.hnderson sold to the
city the greater portion of the land for the ASunicipal
Golf Course, and,
:°iHFRE.4S ?;r.Bryant and S,.r.~nderson sold this property
to the city at a most nominal price, and,
'1,'H?+'~EAS the City of Delray wishes to express its
appreciation for the generosity and public spiritedness
of these men
N0;7,THERT'F~I?F be it resolved that T+'ir.F`..E. Bryant ,and
AIr.~'.G.Anderson be granted without charge, a life time
non transferrable membership in the A;.unicipal Golf Course.

carried on roll call that the resolution be adopted.
It was moved by 74ir.BarwicY>,and seoonded
that the Boy Scouts be given free use of the Chamber of
Commerce hall for one or.more evenings a week for a
period of 90 days. The motion was carried.
It was moved,seconded and carried that the following
building permit be granted:-
Cement block restaurant for the G.B.Sandwich Co.,
on Lot 2,Bloeli 101, contractor P,i.l).Gates, to cost 1,400.00

A RAILROAD IN THE CITY OF I)T_~1LRAY,FhORI1)A, was laid before
the council by the City Attorney and was read for the first
time and in full. It was moved by aSr.Jelks,seconded and
carried unanimously that the rules be suspended and that
the ordinance be read for the second tine by caption only.
The ordinance reciting that it was an emergency ordinance
it was placed on its third reading and final passage. On
its final passage those voting in the affirmative were
P„r.Barwick,ii:r.Evans, and T•;Tr. Jelks , - negative - none.
A~resolution waiving all claim to any portion of blocks
98 and 97 as a public park was presented to the council.
It was moved by I~~r.Jelks,seeonded by ^Pr.Barwick,that the
resolution be adopted. On rollcall the vote tivas unanimous.
The 24ayor then appointed the following to act with
the City Clerk in making the 1926 tax assessment:-

that the mayor and clerk be authorized to ~crrOW
an additional 10,000. for sewer construction.
