Mayor Smith called a special session of the
tti ,_.
council to order at 10.3Q AM. Councilmen, Barwick,
Evans, Jelks, O'Neal, and Sundy were present.
It was moved by Mr. Barwick, amd seconded by
Mr.Evans, that the resolution of January 14th,1926
referring to certain matters under discussion with the
Florida East Coast Railway Go., be rescinded as soon as
the Railroad Company comply with the following conditions:
(1) That signal lights,to be operated from a towar,be
installed at Atlantic Avenue, and N.E. 2nd.St. crossings,
and that the adequacy of this form of protection be
approved by the council after installation.
(2} That the Railroad~Co. ke~ep~the track clear of ears
50t each side of ~k~ee~+a ' ~-~ ~ ~ and
(3} That the Railroad Co., agree to pay for the-services
of one watchman from January 12th, to completion of the
installation of the signal device.
It was further uilderstoad that the Railroad Company
was to operate the signal For 16 ho~~rs; a day; without..
expense to the city, and that if a third man is to be
required his salary will be paid by the city. On roll call
the vote was as follows:-

that he was opposed to the signal lights.
O'Neal - yea

The motion was carried.
After ome discussion it mas agreed to rescind the
part of the ordinance requiring the opening of street
crossings across the railroad track. The following
crossings, those of which are not already open, are to
be opened in place of the ones mentioned in the ordinance:
Gulf Stream Boulevard, Dixie Boulevard, Atlantic Avenue,
N.E. 2nd. Street, S.E. 2nd. Street, N.E.4th.St., S.E.4th.
St., S.E.Bth.St.
The council adjourned.
