COUNCIL CHAMBER
Maroh 8th,1926.
The Mayor called the regular session of the oouncil
to order with councilmen, Baruviek,Jelks,0'Neal, and Sundy
present. Councilman - Evans was absent.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and
approved with corrections.
Mr.Croft,representing the delegation from the Labor ,
Union,addresaed the pounpil stating-the opposition of the
Union to selling the Electric Light Plant.
It was moved by Mr. Jelks,and seconded by Mr.O'Neal-'

that the application of Mr.B.W.Mitehell, and Mr.S.F.Smi"~h
for the placing of betties along the Ocean front in Delray
be approved on condition that the actual ponstraction work
at all tiu~.es meet with the approval of the City Engineer
according to their recommendations and blue prints.
The motion was parried on roll call. ___-
It was moved, seconded, and carried that a building
permit for repairs be granted to Geo. Green, not to ezoeed
25.00 on his house in Zot 6, Block 1, Whidden Subdivision.
It was moved by Mr.Jelks, seconded by Mr.Sundy,that
a eomm~nioa'~lan from the Board of Directors, of the
Chamber of Commerce in regard to a City Planning Commission
be tabled pending further investigation and information fron
other cities. Motion was parried on roll call.

It was moved by Mr. Barwick, seconded by P,Tr.O'Neal
that a committee be appointed to make the investigation
and get information Prom other cities in regard to a
planning committee Motion was carried on roll call.
It was moved,seconded, and carried that a
committee be appointed to act with the City Attorney
and City Engineer in preparing and recommending to the
Council a building code. On roll call the vote was
unanimous.
It was moved by Mr.Jelks, and seconded by
Mr. Barwick, that the communication Prom Mr. Irwin J.
Sinks, and Mr. F.H.I,ink in regard to the construction
oP the building dust west of the P~Tasonic Building
be referred to the building committee Por investigation
and action. On roll call the vote was unanimous.
The Mayor appointed a Building Committee which is to be
a standing committee, as Follows:
Mr.W.O.Jelks, Chairman,
ItRr. 0' Neal,
Mr. Barwick, and
Mr. J.B.I,ong City Manager.
It was moved,seoonded, and carried that a plat
of a subdivision known as Southern Pines be approved on
condition that the recommendations oP the City Engineer as
to easements be complied with.
It was moved,seeonded, and carried that a
plat known as Delray Shores Plaza be approved.
It was moved,seeond~d, and carried on roll
call that a p at<oP Zake Ida Gardens. #2 be approved.

and carried on roll call that a plat of a subdivision

and parried on roll call that the request of the Fire
: J, Department Por a permit to hold a carnival be disapproved.
The Following building permits Por construction in
the fire zone were approved:

addition of two rooms , Frame construction, to a house
on hots 28,and 29, Block 29, -cost 400.00.

Block 76.

It was moved by r.4r.0'Neal,seconded by Mr.Jelks,
and carried on roll call that the City Manager be
authorized to start the construction of the whiteway
on the. Dixie Highway from North East 4th. to South
East 4th.St.
It was moved by Mr.O~Neal,and seconded by Mr.
Jelks that the'City Manager be authorized to have
constructed,metal garages,west of the City Hall for
city trucks. On roll gall the vote was unanimous.
Current bills having been referred to the
finance committee, were audited by them, and on
motion were ordered paid.
The council adjourned.
