The council met in rular adjourned session
vaith the T`ayor presidiz~. Councilmen,Barwici.,Evans,Jelks,
Bundy and O'Neal were present.
Representatives of the sis companies „~acinb
bids on the Oil engines were allowed one half hour
each to address tY.e council in regard to their respective
propositions. At the close of these discussions it was
moved by Ir_r. O'Neal, and seconded by I;ir. Barwick, that the
bid of L.cIntosh and Seymour Corporation be accepted. On
roll call the vote was as follows:-
Barwick - yea
Evans yea
Jelks no
Sandy yea
O'Neal yea
It was moved by P;Ir. O'Neal and regularly
seconded that the clerk be authorized to return tle checks
of the unsuccessful bidders.
Representatives of the companies placing bids
for Electrical E:tuipmez~t were allowed a short time each
to address the council on their respective propositions.
It was moved by ir. Barwici:, and seconded by I:;r. O'T1ea1
that the bid of the 6Jesti ;house Electrical manufacturing
Company be accepted. The motion was carried.
~ The following increases in salaries were
granted by the council:-
Chief of Police to 225.00
Assistant Chief of Police X200.00
The council adijourned.
