COUNCIL Cfr~1Iv~ER
The council met in regular session with the
Mayor presiding. Councilmen Barwick; Je1ks,0'Neal
and Sundt' were present. Councilman Evans absent.

The minutes o£ the previous meeting were read
and approved with the following correction that the
money for the cost of the electric line to the mattress
factory be refunded to Par. Benjamin as soon as the
line becomes revenue producin;;;,.
It was moved by Pair. Jelks seconded by L'.r.. Barwick
that a permit be ,ranted to 2lir. Ossie Priest to keep a
cow, subject to the city sanitary regulations. The
motion u~as carried.
It was moved by P4r. Jelks, that the refunding of
the money for the water-mains in Del Ida Park be referred
to the "Pater and Zight Committee and that an expression
be obtained in writing from former members of the council
in regard to the agreement with Mr.B.E.Clutter. The
motion was seconded by I;Tr. Sundt' and carried on roll
call,
It was moved by P,,Ir. Jelks that the Bdayor and Clerk
be instructed to pay the Hall Realty Company Inc.,
10;000.00 for 5 feet of their property in block lOl,as
previously agreed upon by the couneil,as soon as the
proper deed is procured. The motion was regularly seconded
and carried on roll call.

Bids for the following; materia7~projeets were before
the council:
No. 1 -Fuel Oil Tanks,
No, 2 - Construction of the water Distribution System.
No. 3 - P.Taterial for the I°later Distribution System
No.4 -Valves and Fire Hydrants included in the C'7ater
Distribution System,
It was moved, seconded, and carried on roll call that
bids be declared closed, It was then moved, seconded,
and carried that the bids be opened; all bids on the
respective propositions were then opened and read to the
council. It was j:oved by Lir. Sundt', and seconded by T,r.
O'Neal that the bids be referred to the engineers and the
Zight and ~rlater Committee for tabulation to be referred

back to the council the following day at 8.P.I:.
It was moved, seconded, and carried that the bid
and check of the Irons R~anor Construction Co. be
returned as was requested by representative of that
company; same were then returned to said representative
who was present, The check and bid of the '1.G.Fritz Co.,
was also returned on request of the bidder. Both the
bid of the Irons Tvianor Construction Co. and that of
~'V.G.Fritz Co., were then withdrawn from further consider-
ation.
It was moved, and seconded that the Florida
East Coast Railway Co., be paid w80~00 per month for
the services of a watchman at the Atlantic Avenme
crossing for a perirod of 12 months beginning June 1st,
1926. The motion was carried on roll call,

council and read for the first time in full. It was
moved, and seconded that the ordinance be passed on
its first reading. The motion was carried on roll call.
It was moved by nor. Jelks that the rules be suspended
and the ordinance be read for the second time by
caption only. On roll call the vote was unanimous.
The ordinance reciting; that it was an emergency orYli.~tanee
it was read for the third time and in full. It was
then moved by A'ir. Jelks sec onded by S;Lr. Barwick that
the ordinance be passed on its third reading. On roll
call the vote was unanimous. The ordinance was then
declared adopted.
AN pT?DINAi?CE F'STABLISHING LIGHT RATES IN THE
CITY OF DELRAY,FLORIDA, was laid before the council for
its first readir~. It was moved by P.4r. O'Sdeal and seconded
by l:Zr. Barwick that the ordinance be passed on its first
reading. On roll call the vote was as follows:-
Barwick - yea
O'Neal yea
Jelks no
Sundt' no
The respective votes being two for; and two against,
it was necessary that the Iltayor east the deciding; vote
the Mayor voting - no. The ordinance was declared lost
on its first reading,
