special meeting of the City Council this morning,

matter of awarding the contract for the construction
of the power house and to take whatever action in
regard to this matter that the Council may deem

The Council met at the call of the i.ayor.
Councilmen Bar:'iick, Jells, 011veal and Sundy were present,
councilman Evans was absent. The ?Mayor presided.
The vario-as contractors who had submitted bids
for the construction of the new power house were called
before the Council an," allowed few minutes each to
interview the Council in suppo4of their respective
bids. After close of the discussion it was moved Vy : °s.
Jel'_cr,, seconded, and carried on roll call that the S;.ayor
ask for a vote and on roll call each councilmen be in-
structed to vote for the contractor who, in his opinion,
had presented the best bid. The vote was'as follows:
Bar:vic'c - John I. Thieme
Jelks - D. Gates
C'Teal - John 1. Th4e7:e
Sundy - John I. Thieme
The bid of John I. Thieme was therefore declared accepted.
At this point &s. Sundy, Vice- mayor, took charge
of the meeting for the remainder of the session.
It was moved b7 : r. Jelks and seconded by %:r'.
O'?ieal that the certified checks of the unsuccessful
bidders be returned. The ;notion was carried.
