You are hereby notified that there will be a
special meeting of the City Council tonight, Wednesday,
June 30th, 1926, at eight P. M. to take up whatever
matters the Coancil may deem neoessary.

COUNCIL CHAMBER
The Council met at the call of the Mayor.
Councilmen Barwick, Jelks and Sundy were present. The
Mayor presided.
The 0ity Clerk was instructed to write to Mr.
John I. Thieme stating that the Council had ordered his
contract for the construction of a new power house
temporarily disoontiztued; that the period of one hundred
and twenty days agreed upon for completion of the job
would begin on the date on which Mr. Thieme is to,re-
oeive instructions from the Council to recontinue work;
and that the City would protect Mr. Thieme on the in-
creased prices in material, provided such an increase
occurs.
As recommended by Butler, Barnett &Taylor,
City Engineers, it was moved by Mr. Jelks and seconded
by Mr. Barwick that the City Clerk and Mayor be in-
structed to enter into a contract with Mr. W. P. Brown
of Ft. Lauderdale for the construction of a sewerage
disposal tank, Contract "A ", according to the engineers
specifications and to enter into a contract with the
Dorr Company for items Nos. 1 and 2 for Contract "b ".
On roll call the vote was unanimous.
It was moved, seconded and carried on roll call
that the City Clerk be instructed to return the checks
to the unsuccessful bidders.
It was moved, seconded and carried on roll call
that the Clerk be instructed to return certified check
to the Chattanooga Boiler & Tank Company and to inform
them that the Council's acceptance of their proposal was
withdrawn.
The Council adjourned.
