COUNCIL CHAMBER
The Council met in regular adjourned session with
the Mayor presiding. Councilman Barwick, Jelks, O'Neal
and Sundy were present. Councilman Evans was absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Mr. Williams, of the Irons Manor Construction
Company, Mr. G. C. Baker, of the bast Coast Construction
Company, and Mr. Nelson, of the Municipal Investment
Corporation, were present. All wished audience with the
Council.
It was moved by Mr. Barwick and seconded by Mr.
O'Neal that each of the gentlemen be heard. Mr..Nelson
was granted the floor and submitted an agreement from the
Municipal Investment Corporation concerning the purchase
of certain special assessment bonds contemplated issued
by the City of Delray. No action was taken.

Company, submitted an agreement to purchase certain
special assessment bonds from the City of Delray. Mr.
Williams also submitted a bid on certain paving, side-
walk, Curb and gutter construction contemplated by the
City of Delray. No action was taken.
Mr. Evans being absent, Mayor Smith appointed Mr.
Jelks on the Finance Committee. Current bills were re-
ferred to the Finance Committee and after having been
audited, those approved were referred back to the Council
and ordered paid.
It was moved by Mr. Sundy and seconded by Mr.
Barwick and carried on roll call that the issue of
$118,000.00 of sewer bonds be disposed of.

It was moved, seconded and carried on roll call that the
City accept the bid on the sewer bokids of the Municipal
Investment Corporation of 95% less 5% for legal and ad-
visory services in handling said bonds. On roll call those
voting in the affirmative were Councilmen Barwick, Jelks,
O'Neal and Sundy. Negative none.
It was moved, seconded and regularly carried on roll call
that the City manager be authorized to have cleaned of
weeds and rubbish Swinton Avenue, the Dixie Highway and
East Atlantic Avenue from Sixth Avenue to the Canal.
The City Clerk was instructed to send to the County a bill
the City had received from Coleman and Company, morticians.
It was moved by Yr. Jelks, regularly seconded and carried
on roll call that the Mayor communicate with the Florida
Power & Light Company and ascertain if possible whether or
not the Florida Power and Light Company intended making any
further offer for the City's light plant, equipment and
obligations incurred by the City during the preliminary
work on the new power plant.
The Council adjourned until Friday, August 13th, at eight
Mayor.
