COUNCIL CHAFER
The Council met in regular adjourned session the
Mayor presiding. Councilmen Barwick, Evans, Jelks, O'Neal
and Sundy were present.
After some disoussion between Mr. Preston, of the .
Florida Power and Light Company, and members of the Council
as to whether or not the Florida Power and Light Company
would assume the contracts and obligations the City has
incurred during the preliminary work on the City's new
power plant,and as Mr. Preston finally stated that it would
be necessary for him to'beeome more familiar with the said
contracts and examine certain of the City's records, it
was moved by Mr. Jelks, seconded by Mr. Barwick, and
carried on roll call that the matter be tabled until the
next meeting of the Council.
Mr. Black presented to the Council his qualifioa-
tions as an engineer with the intention of securing the
position of City Engineer. The Mayor appointed Mr. Barwick,
Mr. Jelks and Mr. Sundy to examine and pass upon any
applicant for this position and to 4* r a� salary'.

Estimate No. 1 on sidewalks around the school house
was presented to the Council by the City Engineer and
after being audited by the finance committee was referred
back to the Council and ordered paid.
Mr. Howard, Attorney for the Irons Manor Construction
Company, addressed the Council and the matter of floating
a special assessment bond issue under the 1923 Act was
discussed by the City Attorney and the Council. No action
was taken.
