The Council n:et in regular session with Vice- 1.7 ayor
dy presiding. Council:,en Barwick, Jelk,s, and O'Neal were
sent. Councilman Evans was absent.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and
proved with a correction to the minutes of September 29th
follows: That the appropriation for the Chai;,ber of Com-
rce be subject to withdrawal at any time.
1r. Jelks and Kr. Barwick were appointed members pro
em of the Finance Committee in place of Kr. Sundy who was
residing and Mr. Evans who was absent. Current bills having;
een audited by the Finance Committee were referred flack to
he Council and ordered paid as indicated by the Committee.
It was moved, seconded ai:d carried on roll call that
e City Clerk; be instructed to refer the charges for long
stance telephone calls to Ft. Pierce to i:r. J. B. Long of
at city for payment and that the item of $1.05 for a tele-
am to Cameron, Texas, on the Postal Telegraph Company's

Mr. A. S. Elliott, auditor, made a verbal report to

The count having shown that Ter. J. S. Sundy was
lected Mayor, Mr. L. L. Barwick and Mr. J. C. Johnson Council -
ien and Mr. John M. Berg Bond Trustee the same were declared
fleeted by the Council. ,r. B. F. Sundy, acting 13ayor, then
;ave the oath of office to Mr. J. S. Sundy, Iviayor elect.
Being duly sworn in the iaiayor gave the oath of office to rr.
L. Barwick and Yr. J. C. Johnson Councilmen elect and Mr.
ohn T. Berg Bond Trustee elect.
The Mayor then called the new Council to order with
Barwick, Mr. Jelks, Idr. Johnson and Tar. Sundy present.
14r. W. 0. Jelks was ii_structed by the Council to re-
mit approximately 030.00 received from the sale of bread after
the hurricane to the Chamber of Commerce, provided the Red
Cross takes care of the other bills for food ani sup_;lies
sent to Hollywood.
A letter from John I. Thieme in regard to a claim for
construction of the power plant building was ordered referred
to the Florida PowM &; Light Company.
A letter from the Womens Missionary Society of the
P,4 thodist church expressing opposition to Sunday amusements
was ordered filed.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried on roll

The Council then proceeded to elect officers for the
urrent year. Mr. Barwick was nominated for President of the
ouncil and Vice- iIayor, on roll call the election was unani-
ous. Ps. Jelks was nominated as Vice- President of the Council
