COUNCIL CHAMBER
October 25th, 1926.
The Council met in regular session, the Mayor presid-
ing. Councilmen Barwick, Evans, Jelks, Johnson and Sundy
were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
A bill from the Chamber of Commerce for advertising
amounting to $275.00 was approved and ordered paid, the same
to be charged against the appropriation for the Chamber of
Commerce.
As provided in a sewer assessment ordinance passed on
the 14th of September, 1926, the Council sat to hear com-
plaints against said assessments. All persons interested
were heard by the Council and all complaints being satis-
factorily explained or adjusted it was regularly moved,
seconded and carried on roll call that the assessment roll
be finally adopted.
Further discussion was then entered into in regard to
the paving of Swinton Avenue. It was moved,by Mr. Jelks and
seconded by Mr. Evans that the City Ingineer be instructed
to re- advertise for bids for fifteen days and that the con-
tractor be required to salvage the rook now in place. The
motion was carried on roll call.
It was regularly moved and seconded that a white way
be constructed on Swinton Avenue within the same blocks as
the paving is laid. On roll call the vote was as follows:
Barwick yea, Evans yea, Jelks no, Johnson yea, Sundy yea.
A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF IMPROVEMENT BONDS
IN LIEU OF CERTIFICATES FOR CERTAIN SEWER CONSTRUCTION was
laid before the Council by the City Attorney. Mr. Evans
moved its adoption, the motion was seconded by Mr. Sundy and
carried unanimously on roll call.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF IMPROVEMENT
BONDS FOR THE CITY OF DELRAY, FLORIDA, AGAINST LIENS DUE SAID
CITY ON ACCOUNT OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN SEWER IMPROVE -
MENTS was presented to the Council by Mr. Evans, Chairman of
the Ordinance Committee, who requested that it be passed on
its first reading. Having been read for the first time in
full the ordinanoe was unanimously adopted on its first react-
ing. It was then moved, seconded and carried unanimously on
