04-14-24 Regular~l Council Chamber April 14, 1924. Ths Council met in regular session. The Mayor ~/ 'been elected Councilman. Standing Committees 'sent. Councilman Johnson was absent. The minutes of the previous meeting were read '.presided. Councilmen Malone, Sundy and Swanson were pre- land approved. The Clerk suggested that a vacancy existed"i~ ;the Council by reason of the resignation of Z. F. Ranson Viand the Council proceeded to elect a member to fill the va- to serve cancy, the member elected.until the next regular election. 'The election was by be,].'11ot and all votes cast were in fa- 'vor of J. C. Keen and he was, by the Mayor declared elected to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Ranson. The City Treasurer requested the Council to in- Iterpret the intention of the. Council in the resolution adopt ed August 28, 1923 relating to payments to the Delray News ;. for the publication of city matters, the question being raised by the presentation by the Delray News of two bills. for the publication of ordinances passed by the Council'. _It was held by the Council that it .was not contemplated in y t~ the resolution of August 28, 1923, that such matters asp :" ordinances should be published under the terms stated irt~~as ate.,>, the resolution and .the bills presented by the Delray ,News were approved and ordered paid.
