Pursuant to a call of the R.ayor, the Council`
:met in special Executive session, +,he Mayor presiding.
Councilmen Evans, Keen and Malone were presen
',Councilmen Swanson and Sundy were absent.
she rdayor stated that the object of the call
;for the Executive Session was for the purpose of consid"eY
ing matters of vital interest, and disclosed to the
;Council the fact that certain official records had been
'stolen Pram the office of the City Clerk and Treasurer,
..pointing out the gravity of the situation and regrxestir;~
the Council to take such action as it deemed proper in
;the premises.
', Councilman Keen submitted the following Pream
land Resolution, which on roll call was adopted, those
';voting in the affirmative being Mr. Evans, Mr. Keen and
'Mr. Malone. -
"WHEREAS, it ie satisfactorily shou~m to the C
;that, at some time between the 18th and 25th of the pros
.,month, some person or persons did steal Prom the offioe`-
jCity Clerk and Treasurer, certain official records, vii--.
':cash book of the general fund account for the current fi
,year, and the cash book of the general fund account cove
jthe four immediately preceding years, and
WHEREAS, soma person or persons at some time.
:'the last annual election of C+ty Officers, did break th@
and remove from the ballot-box the poll list used in sai~
'election of City Officers, and
'NHEREAS, each and every one of these acts was a
dastardly attempt to bring into disrepute end discredit the
,;administration of the Officers of the City of Delray, there
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUPdCIL:
1st: That the Mayor of the City of Deer ay be
'authorized, and is hereby directed to take such action and
'incur such expense as, in his discretion, may seem necessary
to apprehend and bring to justice the person or persozls guil
of the theft of a portion of the official records of the Cit
of Delray as set out in Preamble of this Resolution.

2nd: That the Idayor be, and he is hereby author
i S ~~
ized and directed to offer a reward of X300.00 for in-
formation leading to the apprehension and conviction of
the person or persons guilty of the theft.
3rd: That the P~a.yor be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to inform the people of the City
of Delray of the dastardly act which has been committed
'against the integrity of the City and its properly
constituted officials.
4th: That there be and is hereby appropriated
,out of any money in the treasury of the City of Delrsy,
not otherwise specifically appropriated, an'emount
'sufficient to cover the reward authorized to be offered,
and to cover any and all expenses otherwise incurred in
..efforts to apprehend the guilty person or persons."
There being no further business the Executive
Session was declared dissolved.
