The Council met in regular session, the
r presiding. Counoilman Sundt'; Malone, Scott,
'Neal and Byrd were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read
approved.
A bill from the Erotic Gardena for draw8~ng
ns for the City Park was feferred to the Council who
reseed the opinion that the bill should not be paid

The current bills were laid before the Council

The Clerk presented the application of Ellis
Lamb for permission to erect a garage apartment on
17, Block 100 to be built of cement blocks at an
? ~stimated cost of X500.00.

presented far the erection of a building on the d.E.

building to be of frame construction at an estimated cost
of X1000.00.
On motion of Mr. Byrd, seconded by rnr. O'Neal
the clerk was directed to issue the necessary permits.
Yr. Byrd, Chairman of the Ordinance Committee
submitted an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance, amenddng
an Ordinance adopted October 23, 1922, and amended April
24, 1923, and slain on December 10, 1923, filing the
compensation of the City Clerk," which was referred to the
Ordinance Committee.

reported the ordinance back to the Council with the reaom-
mendation that it be placed on its first reading. The
recommendation beingsuatained, the Ordinance wsa read the
first time, and in full.

Mr. Byrd asked consent that the ordinance be

The ordinance reciting that it was an emergency

The motion having prevailed, the ordinance was
a third time in full, and on roll call was adopted
y unanimous vote.
A Contract between the City of Delray and Mr.
. Helland for furnishing electriosl power to the Delray
ce Company was presented by Mr. C.Y. Byrd.

The contract waa read to the Council, and on
motion of Mr. Sund y, seconded b y Mr. O'Neal, the Mayor
and City Clerk ware authorized and directed to execute
the necessary contract on behalf of the nCity. On roll
call, the motion was passed by unanimous note.
At this point Dr. Webb appeared and presented
his resignation as City Health Officer together with a
letter which was read to the Oouncil recommending -
1st. The opening of ditches to carry off the excessive ~~;,
water. -"as
2nd. The installation of a garbage disposal system.
3rd. The placing-of trash containers in conspicuous places«°,;M
4th. The hiring of a Sanitary Inspector.
On motion of Mr. Byrd, seconded by Mr. Malone,
Dr. Webb 's resignation was accepted. Motion waa passed.
After some discussion, the Mayor re-appointed
Dr. Webb sa Gity Health Officer, and motion was made by
Mr. Byrd, seconded by Mr. Malone, that said nomination be
.confirmed. Passed on roll Dell by tnanimous vote.
A delegation from Boca Ratone was present and

Mayor Long of that City addressed the Council, stating
that the City of Boca Ratone would like to enter into a
(contract with the Gity of Delray for furnishing light
and power. This matter was referred to the Water & Light :;
Committee Yor recommendations. `-
Mr. Byrd, Chairman of the Committee on Ordinances:
submitted an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance providing -
Ifor the issuance of improvement Bonds of the City of i/ '
(Delray, Florida, against liana due said City on account
~of certain street paving improvements," and moved its
reference to the Committee on ordinances.

The motion having prevailed, by unanimous vote,

asked unanimous consent that the rules be suspended and the
ordinance be given a second reading and by caption only.

Dr. Webb re-entered the Council Chamber at this
time and presented verbally before the .Council the same

recommendations he had made in his letter.
It was the expressed desire of the Council to "~_
cooperate with Dr. Webb as far as practioal.
Judge Ellis addressed the Council in regard to

the condition of the sidewalks and street between. the City
Hall and Atlantic Ave.
After considerable discussion the recommendation
of removing the cut-out from the main, in front of The
Service Garage was referred to the Clerk.
The matter of typing a list of property owners
to be filed in the Clerk's office for the general use of
II the public and to be sold at a reasonable pride tc possible.-
buyers was brought before the Council by the Clerk.
On motion of Mr. Byrd, seconded by Mr. O'Neal ~

price to the buyer, being left to the discretion of the
Clerk. Motion was passed.
It was moped by Mr. Byrd and seconded by Mr.
Scott, that the Water & Light Committee be empowered to
enter into a special contrast with Delray Beach in regard
to Water supply until the larger main is installed.
