Sponsors:City Attorney Department Email from Attorney Thomas AliAttachments: Others present were: Jennifer Alvarez, Interim City Manager Lynn Gelin, City Attorney Ms. Gelin advised the City Commission that she received notification from Mr. Gretsas' Attorneys, Mr. Thomas J. Ali, Esquire and Stuart N. Kaplan, P.A. and it is her understanding that they are now representing Mr. Gretsas with his termination proceedings. She further explained that the public hearing was scheduled for October 23, 2020 at 10 A.M., but due to the attorneys being recently retained as well as other outstanding issues, they have requested a postponement. After checking with outside counsel and all parties involved, Friday, November 20, 2020 at 10 A.M. was determined to be the best date to reconvene. Ms. Gelin expressed her positioning to Mr. Ali that Mr. Gretsas' contract allows for 120 days from the issuance of notice of termination to the public hearing after which no further payments of salary or benefits will be required. She stated that the attorneys have agreed that after October 23, Page 1City of Delray Beach Printed on 11/16/2020 October 21, 2020City Commission Minutes - Final 2020 which was the date of the public hearing that the City would not be responsible for making any further payments.
