AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING AN AREA IN SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP
46 SOUTH, RANGE 43 EAST, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, LOCATED
ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF NASSAU STREET, BETWEEN
VENETIAN DRIVE AND OCEAN BOULEVARD (A1A), AN HISTORIC
PRESERVATION DISTRICT; AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, 1983; PROVIDING AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Board, at the meeting
held on September 10, 1987, unanimously recommended the
designation of Nassau Street as an Historic District; and,
WHF2~EAS, the City Council at its regular meeting of
September 22, 1987 unanimously approved such designation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the described property in the City of
Delray Beach, 'Florida is hereby designated The Nassau Street
Historic District:
Lots 2-19 of Nassau Park, as recorded in Plat Book 16, page
67 of Palm Beach County, Florida; Lots 1-12 of Wheatley
Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 16, page 98 of Palm
Beach County, Florida; and Block E, lot 4 and Block F, lot 1
of John B. Reid's Village as recorded in Plat Book 21, page
95 of Palm Beach County, Florida.
Section 2. That the Planning Director of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida shall, upon the effective date of this ordinance,
amend the Zoning Map of Delray Beach, Florida, to show, in an
overlay manner, the above designation.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall become effective ten
days after passage on second and final reading.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on second and final
reading on this the 12th day of January ,1988.
