AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DEl,RAY BEACH, FLORIDA, ANNEXING TO THE C~TY OF
DELRAY BEACH CERTAIN L~ND LOCATED IN S~CTION 5,
TOWNSHIP 46 SOUTH, RANGE 43 EAST, WHICH LAND IS
CONTIGUOUS TO EX~STING MUNICIPAL LIMITS OF SAID
C~TY~ REDEFINING TBS BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY TO
INCLUD~ SAID LAND~ PROVIDING FOR TH~ RIGHTS AND
OBLIGATIONS OF SAID LAND= AND PROVIDING FOR THE
ZONING TBSREOF.
WHEREAS, THE GRIMES FOUNDATION is the fee simple owner
of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, THE GRIMES FOUNDATION, by its Petition, has
consented and given permission for the annexation of said pro-
petty by the City of Delray Beach, and
WHERPJ~S, the City of Delray Beach has heretofore been
authorized to annex lands in accordance with Section 185.1 of
the City Charter of said City granted to it by the State of
Florida~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION:I, That the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, hereby annexes to said City
the following described tract of land located in palm Beach
County, Florida, which lies contiguous to said City, subject to
conditions hereinafter set forth.
A tract of land in Section 5, Township 46 South,
Range 43 East, Palm Beach County, Florida.
Beginning at a point in the North street line
of Pineridge Road (N. W. 22nd Street) as shown
on subdivision plat of Lake Shore Estates, PXat
Book 25, page 26, Palm Beach County records,
said point being 684 feet Westerly from the East
boundary line of said Section $! thence North-
erly parallel to said East boundary line a Bis-
tahoe of 369.13 feet~ thence Easterly at an
angle of 90°-22~-16" to the preceding course,
measured from South to East a distance of 133.3
feetr thence Northerly parallel to the East
boundary of said Section $ a distance of 219.74
feet~ thence Westerly parallel to the said North
street line of N, W. 22nd Street a distance of
733.3 feet~ thence Southerly parallel to the East
boundary line of said Section 5 a ~istance of 4~0
feet~ thence Westerly parallel to the said North
line of N. W. 22nd Street a distance of 467.49 feet
more or less to a point on the Northerly extension
of the East line of Lake Drive in said Lake Shore
Estates~ thence Southerly along said line a dis-
tance of 160 feet to the said North line of N. W.
22nd Street~ thence along said North line a dis-
tance of 1067.78 feet more or less to the point of
beginning. Said tract containing approximately
S% acres.

SECTIO~,~,,~ That ~he boundaries of ~he City of Delray
Beach, Florida, are hereby redefined so as to include therein
the above described ~ract of land, and said land is hereby
clared to be within the corporate limits of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida.
~T~ON 3. That the tract of land hereinebove described
is hereby declared to be in Zoning District R-1AA, as defined by
existing ordinances of the City of DelrayBeach, Florida.
~E.CT~0N 4..~ That said tract of land herein described
shall be assessed, for taxation purposes, on the basis of
$1,500.00 per acre, contir~gent upon any and all lots, as they
become sold or transferred, becoming subject to ~te~al taxation,
with any remaining portion of unsold or undeveloped areas remain-
lng on such acreage basis.
SECTION_5~ It being further Understood and agreed 2hat
2he City shall extend water distribution lines westward fro~ the
Point of Beginning of the hereinabove described property, aS
noted in Section 1 above, to Lake Dr~ve, a distance of approxi-
mately 1068 feet, also northward fro~ said Point of Beginning
along Second Avenue, a distance of approximately 369 feet,
thence westward to the cul-de-sac as shown on the tentative
plat of said tract of land (Code Identification No. 72914)
attached hereto, a distance of approxi~ately 510 feet, without
cost to property owner.
SECTION 6.. That ~he land hereinabove described shall
immediateiybecome subject-to all of the franchises, privileges,
immunities, debts, obligations, liabilities, ordinances and laws
to which lands in the City of Delray Beach are now or may be,
except as otherwise provided and set forth in Sections 4 and
above, and persons residing thereon shall be deemed citizens of
the City of Delray Beach.
SECTION 7. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence
or part of ~his Ordinance shall be declared i11ega! by a court of
competent jurisdiction, such record of illegality shall in no way
affect the remaLninq portion.
