~lanning and Zoning ~oard
City of Delray peach
Florida
Gentlemen:
It has been noted that, in some cases, the set-back lines
in the zoning Code for the ultw of uelray ~eacn, are ~o~ew~t
less than those specified in the Reservaticns and Covenants of
the four sections of Tropic isle Sub-division.
· £he ~,ropic xsle Civic Association, Inc. respectfully requests
that, in those cases where the Zonlng uode specifies set-back lines
less than those in the Reservations and Covenants of the Tropic
~sle ~ub-division, the former be amended to conform to the latter,
insofar as they apply tv ~ropic ~sle.
It is further requested that the terms "Building" and "Struct-
ture" as defined in the Zoning Code be interpreted to include
screened enclosures for patios and s~;:im~v~ng pools.
The above suggestions are made for two reasons. First, to
maintain tne ..i¢~ otandards iD a very desirable residential sec-
tion; and secondly, to cre~e ,~,ecific stand~d~ for waterfront
property. It is felt that the Zoning Code lac~o ~pecific restric-
tions for waterfront property.
~our coooerat!on in ados, ting the above recom~.~endations will
be gr.-atly appreciated by the residents ~nd property owners of
Tropic .sle. In additi, cn, 'such changes will acc~me to the mGtual
benefit of all residents and officials of the Cfty of Delray Beach
wf~ =re strivimg to continue to maintain the City as one of the
mo~t desirable rasidential areas in the ~tate of Florida.
S~ncerely,
// 0ames ~. Scheifl~.~, ~.resident
