No. 222-24RESOLUTION NO.222-24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH,FLORIDA, RETROACTIVELY APPROVING A GRANT APPLICATION AND APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL GRANT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO OBTAIN SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING FOR THE VISION ZERO ACTION PLAN,PROJECT NO.25-004: AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AMENDMENTS AND/OR RENEWALS AND TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION;PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DA TE;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS,the City of Delray Beach ("City")is authorized to enter into agreements to provide services,programming,and products in accordance with its Charter;and WHEREAS,the City administers a Capital Improvement Program ("Program");and WHEREAS,as part of this Program,the City desires to improve mobility for all roadway users and reduce traffic accidents by creating a "Vision Zero"Action Plan:and WHEREAS,the City was approved to receive funding assistance in the maximum amount of two hundred forty thousand dollars ($240,000)from the United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)via a federal project funding grant;and WHEREAS,the City desires to enter into an agreement with United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration to obtain federal grant funding for Fiscal Year 2024/2025. WHEREAS,the City Commission deems approval of this Resolution to be in the best interest of the health,safety,and welfare of the residents and citizens of the City of Delray Beach and the public at large. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.The foregoing recitals are hereby affirmed and ratified. Section 2.The City Commission of the City of Delray Beach has reviewed and hereby retroactively approves the application for the grant and approves this Agreement between the City and the United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration,which is attached to this resolution as Exhibit A. Section 3.The City Commission authorizes the City Manager to execute any amendments and/or renewals thereto and take any other actions necessary to effectuate the intent of this Resolution.
