AN 0RDINA~CE DECLARING TNE INTENTION
OF TNE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH TO ANNEX
CERTAIN LANDS IN SECTION 9 , TOWNSEIP
~6 SOUTN, RANGE ~ EAST, TO TNE CITY
OF DELRAY BE~CH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, it is deemed for the best interest, safety, health,
and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Delray Beach,
Florida, that certain~lands be annexed to the City of Delray
Beach; and
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous to the present
boundary of territorial limits of the city and that, when
annexed, it will constitute a reasonably compact addition to the
incorporated territory wit~ which it is combined; and
WHEREAS, there are less than ten freeholders contained in
the area which is to be e~exed; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY TNE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA:
(1) That in accordance with Section 185, as amended, of
the Charter of the City of Delray Beach, upon the expiration
of 15 days from the final passage of this ordi6ance, the City
cZ Delray Beach shall by ordinance annex the following described
lands, making them a part of the corporate limits of the City
of Delray Beach, Florida, all of said lands being in Section 9,
Township #6 South, Range ~ East:
That part of Lot 1~ lying East of Intracoastal Waterway a~d that
part of Lot ].5 )~i~ N of ~]ray ~s]e 8,/~ (~].Bk.2a-?65); al~o
the N ~ of the N ~ of abe ~J ~ of Gov't. Lot !;
That part of Lots 12 & 13 ]yin~ Wast of Tntracoastal Waterway
and LESS Rd R/W; also Lot 32;
Lots 30, 31 and 33 ALL LESS R/W of Roads.
(2) That this Ordinance shall be published in full once
a week for two consecutive weeks, in the Delray Beach News-
Journal.
(5) Qualified objectors may object to such annexation
within the time and in the m--net provided by said Section 1SS,
as amended, of the Charter of the City of Delray Beach, Florida.
(4) Should any section, clause or provision of this
Ordinance be declared by a Court of Competent Jurisdiction to
be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the
Ordinance as a whole or any part ~hereof, other than that part
so declared to be invalid.
(5) This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its final passage and publication in a news-
paper published in Delray Beach, Florida.
