AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF I~LRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING FLORIDA
MODEL TRAFFIC ORDINANCE IN ACCORDANCE ~gITH
THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 186, FLORIDA STA-
TUTE$~ REPEALING ~!.L ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 186, Florida Statutes authorizes the
City of Delray Beach to adopt, by reference, any or all of the
provisions of the Florida Model Traffic Ordinance without
setting forth such provisions in full, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach deems it necessary for the public welfare and safety
of the citizens of this City to have a more complete and
comprehensive traffic ordinance,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLT.OWS:
Secti~on' 1: All of the provisions and requirements
of Chapter 186, Florida Statutes 1961, known and cited as the
"Florida Model Traffic Ordinance" in regard to regulation of
traffic on highways, insofar as such provisions are applicable
to the driver of a vehicle in the municipality of Delray Beach,
Florida, except those which by their wording could have no
application, are hereby adopted by reference in accordance
with the authority granted in Section 186.02, Florida Sta-
tute s.
...~e.ct..!on.2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section ~: In the event any section, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance be held
unconstitutional, invalid or ineffective, the same shall not
repeal, nullify or in any manner affect any other section,
paragraph, sentence, clause or portion of this ordinance.
ORDINANCE PASSED in regular session, second and
final reading on this the 14th day of August~ 1961~
to be effective thirty days from said date.

SCHEDULE I
SPEED LIMITS:
When signs are erected giving notice thereof the speed
limits in the City of Delray Beach shall be as follows:
1. Fifteen miles per hou~ in any business district;
except in the area between N. E. 2nd Street and
$. E. 2nd Street where the speed limits shall be
Twenty-five miles per hour.
2. Twenty-five miles per hour in any residence district.
3. Forty-five miles per hour under other conditions.
4. Fifteen miles per hour at ~ny place where a public
thoroughfare crosses a railroad tract.
SCHEDULE II
ONE WAY STREETS:
When signs are erected givi~g notice thereof, traffic
shall move only in the direction indicated upon the following
streets:

SCHEDULE VII
PARKING TIME LIMITED IN METERED PARKING ZONES:
Where meters are erected giving notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle for longer than the period of time designated
by said parking meters upon any of the following streets:
Atlantic Avenue
East 2nd Avenue
East 3rd Avenue
East 4th Avenue
Northeast 1st Street
