G-26 0F T~E~ CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, ~D ~,[~DING SECTION ~, CHAPTER X OF THE CITY CODE OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, RELA~INC TO ~ REGULATION OF TAXI CABS A,~D OTHER ~,~0TOR VEHICLES. B~ IT ORDAINED ~ T~ CI..~£ COUNCIL of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, as follows: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. G-26 of the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, be an~. the same is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. That ~ection 4, Chapter X of the City Code of Delray Beach be and the same amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: "SECTIOI~? 4. a. All taxi cabs snd/or motor vehicles which are ~ regulated by ~$ections i and 2 of this Chapter shall be insured in a responsible insurance company to be approved by the City Clerk of Vhis City, which in- surance shall cover 'ap to the stua of $10,000. for any f~'~ one individual, ~20,000. for total liability to all ~:.~'~' individuals involved and ~t5000. for property damage ~ ~ which may incur from the operation of such vehicles. '~ ~):~\ Each such vehicle so operated in the Cindy of Delray Beach saall be insured for not less than said amount, or in lieu thereof, the owner or operator of said vehicle may post a bond with the City of Delray Beach, Florida in the amount of ~ , ~35 000. for each taxi cab so operated conditioned to indemnify passengers for injury sustained in the operation of said vehicle and conditioned to indemnify the owner of property damaged by such operation, which bond shall be approved by the City Clerk of the City of Delray Beach, Florida. If the taxi cab and/or motor vehicle is insured, the insurance shall be paid up to and including September 30th following the date of its issuance ~. and the policy of insurance shall '0e deposited ~ith the City Clerk of the City of Delray Beach, Florida. "b. All such taxi cabs and/or motor vehicles which are regulated by Sections i and 2 of this Chapter s~all have the word "TAXI" or "TAXI CAB" painted thereon in legible letters not less than four inches in height and not less than one-half inCi~ in width of ~ contrasting color. "c. All such taxi cabs and/or motor vehicles shall have an inspection made by the City I'~echanic each ~,onth of the brakes and lights of such vehicle and obtain a certificate of such inspection from the City f~,~echanic which shall be affixed to the vehicle. It shall be unlawful to operate any such vehicle if suc~-i vehicle has not been inspected at such monthly intervals and the lights and brakes thereof ap_oroved by the City ~echs~nic. "d. No license shall be issued for the operation of ~ny taxi cab and/or motor vehicle regulated by Sections i and 2 of this Chapter unless the owner or opermtor thereof shall have an established place of business in the City of Delray Beach, Florida."
