02-12-23 Regular Council Chamber February 12, 1923. The Council met in regular session. In the abaei~ce of the Mayor, the session was opened by Mr. Keen, Presi- dent of the Couneil.~-«.~.~...n-., ~lo~('es.~,, ~-~+~+.., + The minutes of tfie previous meetings were read and i .approved. - ' The Clerk laid before the Council a telegram from Fairbanks, Morse & Company stating that the switchboard .for the Vdater & Light plant wsa shipp®~ per ezpress from !Chicago on the 10th. The Mayor appeared and assumed the chair. The Clerk laid before the council a number of cur- s '.rent bills which on moti of Mr. Keen were referred to 'the Finance Committee. after being audited the bills were (reported back to the Council with the recommendation that 'they be paid, and on roll Dell the bills were ordered paid !by unanimous vote. ._ J. L. Love representing the Chamber of Commerce sub- 'mitted to the Council the names of P. A. Ranson, and G. W. !Sypert as suitable persons to be designated by the Council as members of a board of health. I Mr. Scott, Chairman of the Committee en Ordinances ~oalled up the ordinanoe entitled ~ "6n ordinanoe providing for the safeguarding of health, prescribing what constitutes menaces to health, providing methods for correcting the evils, and imposing penalties for violations of the ordinance", and moved that > i D ' it be placed on its third. reading and final passage. ~By unanimous vote the ordinance was ordered read a third .Rime, and being read the vote on its final passage, on ..'.roll call, was in the affirmative, Mr. Keen, Mr. Malone, !!~Mr. Hanson, Mr. Scott, and Mr. Sundy. Mr. Scott, Chairman of the Ordinance Committee, ;, oalled up the pending ordinance entitled "An ordinance providing for methods of traet- ment of collections of water in which mosquitoes breed or are likely to breed, and providing a penalty for vio- lation of the ordinance", and moved that it be placed on its third reading and final passage. By unanimous vote the ordinance was ordered read a third time, and being read the vote on its final passagq on roll call was, in the affirmative: Mr. Keen, Mr. Malone, Mr. Hanson, Mr. Scott, !and Mr. Sundy. eZ By unanimous vote, on roll call., the Treasurer was authorized to pay to L. A. Nicolls the sum of ~P 11.50 ,for a pushcart taken over and used by the water ~ Light ;plant. On motion of Mr. Keen the council adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor.
