03-12-23 Regulart Council Chamber March 12, 1923. The Council met in regular session, the Mayor !providing• Councilmen Malone, Ranson, Scott, and Sundy .were present. Councilman Keen was absent. - !, The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A communication from Mrs. J. B. Dawson relative ., 'to placing certain electric wireing poles in the alley was referred to the Water 8c Light committee for action. A petition filed by Elizabeth Tenbrook and other ;citizens requesting the Council to have removed the elec- tric warning bell recently installed by the Florida East iCoast Railway at the crossing on Atlantic avenue was laid before the Council.,After informal discussion the Qlerk was authorized to take up with the Railroad Company the matter of adjusting the bell so that the ob~ectioriable features imight be eliminated. Mr. Sundy, Chairman of the Committee on Police !and Sanitation called up the ordinance entitled Creating Board " An ordinance providing for the creation of a of Health. jboard of health for the City of Delray, Florida. fixing 'manner of appointment term of office etc.° and moved that it be placed on its third reading and final passage. Cason, Jr., and A. W. Miller. The nominations of (the Mayor were approved on roll call by unanimous vote. Third Man at I~ On motion of Mr. Ranson, Chairman of the Water Water & Light! Plant. Viand Light committee the matter of working hours of the ,third man to be employed at the Water & Light plant was ~ !!left to the discretion of the Superintendent of the plant. The Mayor named ARr. Malone as a member of the Finance Committee pro tem. The Clerk laid before the Council current bills .which on motion of Mr. Sundt' were referred to the Finance 'Committee. After being audited the bills were returned to ;the Council with the recommendation that they be paid, and on roll call the bills were ordered paid, those voting in the affirmative being Mr. Malone, E~Ir. Ranson, Mr. Scott, 'and 2dr. Sundt'. Eire equipment The matter of the purchase of fire equipment ~. ~ (was brought up and informally discussed. No action was !taken pending the receipt of data relating to insurance rates, the efficiency of the equipment offered the city, etc. Side Walks on The ~.jority owners of property located in (block 117 facing west, and on Dade street between Atlaf}tic Avenue and Lawrence street, presented a request that the city order sidewalk laid on the east side of Dade street 'in front of lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, .and 14. f
