The Council met in regular session, the Mayor
;presiding. Councilmen Keen, lJolone, Ranson, and Sundy
'were present on roll call.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
The Clerk laid before the council an application
!from T. M. O'Neal for permit to erect a garage on lot 9.
block 84, dimensions 47' x 1031, construction, hollow: tile
walls, cement floor, galvanized metal roofing, and estima-
'ted cost 12000.00.
On motion of Mr. Keen, seconded by Mr. Ranson,
the Clerk was directed to issue the necessary permit.
The Clerk laid before the council current bills
which on motion of Mr. Keen were referred to the Finance
Committee. After being audited the bills were referred
"back to the council with the recommendation that they be
I`paid, and by vote, on roll call, they were ordered paid.
In the absence of Cdr. Scott the Mayor named Mr.
Ranson as a member of the Finance Committee pro tem.
Mr. Scott, who was absent wt the beginning of
the session, appeared and sat with the council.
On motion of Mr. Keen, seconded by Mr. Sundy,
the Clerk was authorized to settle past due bills with
D.J.Davis, for current consumed, on the basis of .x'3.00
per month, and to remit the cost of cut -in as an adjust-
ment on previous meter readings . On roll call those

voting in the affirmative were Mr. Keen, Mr. Malone,
Mr. Rasnson, Mr. Scott, and Mr. Sundy.
Mr. Ranson, Chairman of the YJater & Light com-
mittee reported that the elctric service line had been
extended to the residence of G. M. Taylor on South Lixie.
Mr. Malone, Chairman of the Street Committee,
reported that the committee had inspected the street paving
in company with George A. Long, engineer and that with
some minor exceptions in the construction of the roads, and
the filling of excavations made on adjacent properties for
!the purpose of obtaining dirt for "fills" on the street,
the work had been done in accordance with the contract
and specifications, and the committee recommended that the
paving work done by Greynolds & Monroe, Inc., be accep-
ted with the reservation and stipulation that the sum of
$750.00 be withheld from payment until the objectionable
features shall have beem remedied.
The report of the Street Committee was adopted
by unanimous vote of the council on roll call.
The council adjourned subject to the call of
the Mayor.
