325-39 AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING AND IMPOSING ON EVERY INSURANCE COMPANY, CORPORATION OR OTHER INSURER NOW ENGAGED IN OR CARRYING ON, OR WHO SHALL H~EAFTER BE ENGAGED IN OR CARRY ON, THE BUSINESS OF INSURING PROPERTY AGAINST LOSS OR DAMAGE BY FIRE OR TORNADO, AN EXCISE TAX IN ADDITION TO ANY LICENSE TAX NOW LEVIED, AMOUNTING TO ONE PER CENT (1%) OF ~tE GROSS ~0UNT OF RECEIPTS OF PREMIUMS FROM POLICY HOLDERS ON ALL PREMIUMS COLLECTED ON FIRE AND TORNADO INSURANCE POLICIES COVERING PROPERTY WITHIN TttE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA; AND APPROPRIATING THE MONEYS DERIVED FROM SUCH TAX TO THE PENSION FUND OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY .... ~BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS'. " Sectional. There is hereby assessed and imposed on every insurance company, corporation or other insurer now engaged in or carrying on, or who shall hereafter engage in or carry on, the business of insuring property against loss or damage by fire or tornado, an excise or license tax amounting to one (1%) per cent of the gross amount of receipts of premiums from policy holders on all premiums collected on fire and tornado insurance · policies c~vering property within the corporate limits of the ., City of Delray Beach, Florida. Section~ 2. All money derived from the taxes imposed by this ordinance is hereby appropriated to the Fireman's Relief and Pension Fund of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, which shall be administered in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 19,112, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1939, providing for the creation and administration of a Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund in certain cities and towns.. Section~ 3. The license tax herein assessed and imposed shall be in addition to all other license taxes now levied by the City of Delray Beach, Florida. Section i4. The excise or license tax herein provided for shall be payable and col±acted in the manner provided for by Chapter 19,112, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1939, providing for the creation and administration of a Fireman's Relief and Pension i Fund in certain cities and towns.
