A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, was called to order by Mayor Doak S. Campbell in the
Council Chambers at City Hall at 5:25 P.M., Thursday, August 14, 1986.
Roll call showed:
Present - Council Member Marie Horenburger
Council Member Jimmy Weatherspoon
Mayor Doak S. Campbell
Absent - Council Member Malcolm T. Bird
Council Member Richard J. Dougherty
Also present were - City Manager James L. Pennington and City
Attorney Herbert W. A. Thiele
Mayor Campbell called the meeting to order and announced that this
meeting has been called for the purpose of (1) considering agreement
with Palm Beach County Commissioners re: Courthouse.
1. Upon question by Mayor Campbell, Ken Simback, Executive Director
of the Community Redevelopment Agency,stated the form before Council
is the form approved by the County Commission on Tuesday. The CRA
has adopted its Resolution 86-02 which is basically a duplicate of
the County's resolution,so they have approved it and authorized the
Chairman to execute the agreement.
Mr. Weatherspoon advised his only concern was the section with
regard to the police officer; however, as he understands it, based
on the judge's discretion he would make the decision.
Mrs. Horenburger moved to approve ratification of the interlocal
agreement and authorize execution of it in substantive form, seconded
by Mr. Weatherspoon. Upon roll call Council voted as follows: Mrs.
Horenburger - Yes; Mr. Weatherspoon - Yes; Mayor Campbell - Yes. Said
motion passed with a 3 to 0 vote.
Mayor Campbell declared the meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
