A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, was called to order by 5~yor Doak S. Campbell in the
Council Chambers at City Hall at 7:05 P.M., Tuesday, August 6, 19 85.
Roll call showed:
Present - Council Member Malcolm T. Bird
Council Member 5~rie Horenburger
Council Member Arthur Jackel
Council Member Jimmy Weatherspoon
Mayor Doak S. Campbell
Ab se nt - N one
Also present were - City Manager James L. Pennington, and
City Attorney Herbert W.A. Thiele.
Mayor Campbell called the meeting to order and announced
that this meeting has been called for the purpose of: (1) Considering
Public Hearing and Second and FINAL Reading of Ordinance No. 68-85 and
(2) Considering Public Hearing and Second and FINAL Reading of Ordinance
No. 69-85.
1. Ordinance No. 68-85 - Chan~in~ the City's Land Use Plan
Designation (Pelican Harbor ShoPPes). Ordinance No. 68-85, changing the
City's Land Use Plan Designation in the Comprehensive Plan for a 1.46
acre parcel from MF-10 Multiple Family to C-Commercial, located at the
northeast corner of South Federal Highway and Tropic Isle Drive, is
before Council for consideration on Second and FINAL Reading. Prior to
consideration of passage of this ordinance on Second and FINAL Reading,
a public hearing has been scheduled to be held at this time.
The City Manager presented Ordinance No. 68-85:

BEACH', FLORIDA, CHANGING THE CITY'S LAND USE PLAN DESIG-
NATION IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR A PARCEL OF LAND IN
SECTION 32, TOWNSHIP 46 SOUTH', RANGE 43 EAST, PALM BEACH
COUNTY, FLORIDA, FROM ~IF-10 MULTIPLE FAMILY TO C-CO~I-
MERCIAL. THE SUBJECT PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT THE NORTH~
EAST CORNLR OF SOUTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY AND TROPIC ISLE
DRIVE; AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DAT E.

The City Attorney read the caption of the ordinance. A
public hearing was held having been legally advertised in compliance
with the laws of the State of Florida and the Charter of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida. The public hearing was closed.
Mr. Jackel moved for the adoption of Ordinance No. 68-85 on
second and FINAL Reading, seconded by Mr. Bird. Upon roll call Council
voted as follows: Mr. Bird - Yes; Mrs. Horenburger- Yes; Mr. Jackel -
Yes; Mr. Weatherspoon - Yes; ~layor Campbell - No. Said motion passed
with a 4 to 1 vote.
2. Ordinance No. 69-85 - Pelican Harbor Shoppes Rezoning.
Ordinance No. 69-85, rezoning a 1.46 acre parcel from SAD (Special
Activities District) to GC (General Commercial) District, located at the
northeast corner of South Federal Highway and Tropic Isle Drive, is
before Council for consideration on Second and FINAL Reading. Prior to
consideration of passage of this ordinance on Second and FINAL Reading,
a public hearing has been scheduled to be held at this time.

BEACH, FLORIDA, REZONING AND PLACING LAND PRESENTLY ZONED
SAD (SPECIAL ACTIVITIES DISTRICT) IN GC (GENERAL COM-
MERCIAL) DISTRICT A PARCEL OF LAND LYING IN SECTION 32,
TOWNSHIP 46 SOUTH, RANGE 43 EAST. SAID LAND IS LOCATED
AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SOUTH~ FEDERAL HIGHWAY AND
TROPIC ISLE DRIVE, AND AMENDING "ZONING MAP OF DELRAY
BEACH~, FLORIDA, 1983".

Mr. Jackel - Yes; Mr. Weatherspoon - Yes; Mayor Campbell - No. Sa id
motion passed with a 4 to 1 vote.
Mayor Campbell declared the meeting adjourned at 7:10 P.M.
