A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, was called to order by Mayor Doak S.Campbell in the
Council Chambers at City Hall at 5:45 P.M., Wednesday, November 6, 1985.
Roll call showed:
Present - Council Member Malcolm T. Bird
Council Member Marie Horenburger
Council Member Arthur Jackel
Mayor Doak S. Campbell
Absent - Council Member Jimmy Weatherspoon
Also present were - City Manager James L. Pennington, and
City Attorney Herbert W.A. Thiele.
Mayor Campbell called the meeting to order and announced that
this meeting has been called for the purpose of: (1) Canvassing the
returns and declaring the results of the November 5, 1985 Special Elec-
tion.
1. The City Clerk presented the results of the Special Election
held on November 5, 1985, as follows:

Mr. Bird moved to approve the results of the voting as provided
the Supervisor of Elections for Palm Beach County and the results of
e absentee ballots as counted by the Palm Beach County Canvassing Board
as indicated above, seconded by Mr. Jackel. Upon roll call Council voted
as follows: Mr. Bird - Yes; Mrs. Horenburger - Yes; Mr. Jackel - Yes;
Mayor Campbell - Yes. Said motion passed with a 4 to 0 vote.
The City Attorney advised that from the results of the proposed
annexation Sections 1 & 2, Council should declare that Ordinance Nos.
96-85 and 97-85 have failed at the Special Election held on November 5,
1985.
Mr. Bird moved to declare that Ordinance Nos. 96-85 and 97-85
failed at the Special Election held on November 5, 1985, seconded by Mr.
Jackel. Upon roll call Council voted as follows: Mr. Bird - Yes; Mrs.
Horenburger - Yes; Mr. Jackel - Yes; Mayor Campbell - Yes. Said motion
passed with a 4 to 0 vote.
The City Clerk presented the results of the Special Election
held on November 5, 1985, as follows:
Proposed Charter Amendment #1 (Designating seat numbers
for candidates for City Council)

Mr. Bird moved to approve the results of the voting as provided
by the Supervisor of Elections for Palm Beach County and the results of
the absentee ballots as counted by the Palm Beach County Canvassing
Board, as indicated above, seconded by Mrs. Horenburger. Upon roll call
Council voted as follows: Mr. Bird - Yes; Mrs. Horenburger - Yes; Mr.
Jackel - Yes; Mayor Campbell - Yes. Said motion passed with a 4 to 0
vote.
Mayor Campbell declared the meeting adjourned at 5:55 P.M.
